Consistent with the provisions of the Telecommunications Act 2001, the
Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago has made eight
documents available for public comment. Four of these documents had been
previously made available for public comment and have been redrafted,
taking into consideration comments and recommendations received
(deadline for comments is July 15th, 2005) :
* Draft Interconnection and Access Policy (PDF ; 101K)
Sets the foundation for the development of regulations that will
provide legal certainty to ensure any-to-any interconnectivity
among subscribers to competing network and service providers.

* Draft Interconnection Regulations (PDF ; 641K)
Provides and establishes the directives on issues regarding
interconnection of telecommunications networks and/ or services.

Provides and establishes directives on issues regarding the
access of facilities by concessionaires for the
provision of public telecommunications or broadcasting services.

The additional four documents which are being published for the
first time (deadline for comments is July 22nd, 2005) are:
* Draft Policy on the Authorisation of Telecommunications Networks,
Telecommunications Services and Broadcasting Services

Provides the guidelines and processes in respect of the
authorisation of telecommunications networks, telecommunications
services and broadcasting services. “Authorisation” in this context
refers to the granting of concessions or licences by the
Minister and the Authority respectively.

Provides a framework for the management of the
radio frequency spectrum by the Authority
