Hey shivan,
Unless the site is specifically designed to create a community around that,
why not decide on a P2P app (like Xo|oX or Kazaa) let the group download the
app from your site to trade files. You should be able to form an exclusive
groups as well using these apps.

A site like that may run into file size management issues. Right now a
client of mine stresses me with his email exchange of mp3s. It is proving to
be inefficient and insufficient for his needs. He also likes to back it up.
Where? On the mail server. (don't laugh, it's not funny. Lol! lol!)

Other than that ryan was right. You will need some dynamic web language
communicating with a database to achieve that.. PHP/SQL is a good
"free/stable" combo.

Hi Shivan, Do you want the users to download the files via ftp or would it be just password protected pages on the site itself. The ftp option might be easier...
