You need to have all of the ratios the same on XYZ. In other words, each
needs to take the same # of steps to move the same amount. Motors can be
different, but the steps/inch need to be the same. You could have
different ratios if you have adjustable step resolution on your drives
(1/2, 1/4, 1/8 etc). That would assume the diff in step resolutions
would be divisible.
It does have a lookahead and set correctly (and assuming you have the
power), it will run pretty much CV. You can adjust the amount of
slowdown in direction changes or set it to run full bore if you have
enough motor to do it.
