JCT: As I've pointed out, there above 3 parties have LETS
supporters and/or former Abolitionist members. Each had a
function I attended in the past week to broach the topic of
cooperation. As the Sept 18 deadline approaches, all may
prove more receptive to some form of union.
FREEDOM PARTY OF ONTARIO PROMOTION:
-----------------------------------
Sep 02 2003
King St. at Bay St. Toronto
JCT: Knowing that Tom Kennedy had been working with the
Freedom Party trying to get them to endorse local currency
and the abolition of interest rates, I thought there might
be some chance of collaboration. The party leader is Paul
McKeever, I once responded to a post of his in a LETS
Mailbag posting.
Anti-slavery is pretty synonymous with freedom and I knew
there'd of course be a problem with my high-profile on the
same stage as any provincial leader I'm backing. My thought
was that I and political allies would run as a provincial
freedom candidates if he'd support my leading the federal
Freedom Party into the Federal election. I speak French too.
That way, I could yell at Jean Chretien from a provincial
podium as powerfully as I can without the provincial leader
worrying about the federal leader giving the feds a hard
time too.
The main purpose of this provincial election has to always
be a provincial time-trading employment-trading system and
then to fight off the re-establishment of prohibition by the
Feds. Having a Provincial Premier who won't fund the anti-
gambling and anti-drug squads will certainly have an impact.
Of course, McKeever would have to abide by the required 4
programs I've been seeking for the past 24 years.
So I made sure to be at their Bay and King promotion at the
debut of the provincial general election. Terry Parker came
with me. Isn't it amazing that the Premier, Ernie Eves,
chose that very day to drop the election writ?
Their promotion was related to an insert in that day's
National Post with a caricature of a weathercock with the
head of Ernie Eves and the
- North-South direction vanes saying: Monopoly - Choice;
- East - West vanes saying: Nonsense - Common Sense
Eves was crowing: "Just Blow Me."
Page 2 had a couple of dozen quotes by famous people and
National Post reporters dissing Ernie Eves.
Page 3 said: Trust Us. Vote Freedom Party
Page 4 had sign up information.
It must have been costly enough to have an 11x17 flyer
inserted into the Ontario National Post readership.
The promotion had half a dozen members handing them out
during the lunch hour rush. Actually, I later found out that
the National Post had forced them to change it from "Just
blow me" to "Blowing in the wind," or something close. So
they were handing out the racier flyer to passers-by.
I tried to broach the subject of collaboration with Paul but
he had to obey his priorities and help hand out the flyers
to strangers passing by rather than consider more possible
candidates. Terry and I left quickly.
Yesterday, Wednesday Sep 10, I visited Toronto for two party
meetings. People interested in a Marijuana Party of Ontario
met at the Section 56 club in Toronto at 6pm and then the
Libertarian Party of Ontario had their monthly meeting at
Scruffy Murphy's restaurant at 150 Eglinton E.
MARIJUANA PARTY OF ONTARIO:
---------------------------
The Marijuana Party meeting discussed using a charity casino
to raise funds to support the club. I told them the better
way was to get goodies paid for with tax credits that can be
sold to members. But it meant forming a party to get the
status.
I've also asked the Ontario Elections Finance Commission
what happens to any extra contributed stock held by an
independent. Of course, cash has to be remitted to the
Receiver General if not used but what about the lumber or
the photocopier that may have been donated? Julie Stanley is
going to get back to me with the answer.
The easiest way for most people to run is with "zero"
campaigns. The Province handles up to $1000 for your
auditor, who can't claim the $1000 for auditing a null
return but who can claim a couple of hundred to make
agreeing to be your auditor worthwhile.
Finally, you don't even have to file a null return with an
auditor's letter. You can also swear a Candidate Declaration
of null contributions and expenses too. No need for the
auditor's letter.
Again, I stress that registering a candidacy is a very short
process if you know what you are doing.
LIBERTARIAN PARTY OF ONTARIO MEETING:
-------------------------------------
They're running at least 8 candidates and have to be in the
market for some form of collaboration with the other parties
that agree with the same thing.
I spent most of the time discussing the banking system
engineering with several engineers. It's incredible how few
people realize that chartered banks are creating and
issuing new chips when they make loans, just like a casino
bank, except there's an interest fee attached. My undisputed
world-renowned banking systems engineering analysis makes it
crystal clear, but ridding people of the notion that they're
piggy banks is one real tough fight.

I heard some noises that collaboration may be possible.
INDEPENDENT CANDIDATES CAN UNITE:
---------------------------------
Finally, in my 1993 federal election campaign, I got 6
Independents or small party candidates to support LETS after
nominations had closed. I'll be calling every independent in
the province before next Thursday to see if they're
interested in uniting behind a Provincial Ontario Local
Employment-Trading System and the personal freedoms I insist
upon to lay down my political arms.
There are only 7 days left before nomination day for me to
find at least 52 candidates across the province if I want
the chance to bash Chretien and his inept panel of judges.
Finally, as to the Great Power Debate that should take place
given the recent break-down, this electrical engineer would
have funded the electrical network in the exact same way as
York Hydro issued York Power Dollar Certificates. When I
published the report, I added, "too bad they didn't think of
paying their employees with their Power Dollars. Everyone
would take them as readily as they take Canadian dollars.
Believe me, an Ontario LETS powered with Hydro Dollars would
set the electrical grid straight in no time.
