Hello TVNSP Enthusiasts,
The Idaho Society of Radio Amateurs (ISRA) would like to see a 25 to 30 minute presentation about “Near Space Ballooning and Ham Radio” at their September 16th meeting. Their monthly newsletter will go to press in about a week. I’ve been asked to submit a short paragraph this week describing the proposed content of the September 16th Near-Space presentation.
I am just starting to put together an outline for this presentation. Any and all suggestions from the TVNSP group would be appreciated.
Mike Rogers, do you still have our capsule? I have Mike Garske’s partially-built capsule here. I’d like to take one or more capsules as a prop. I can get lots of photos from our website. I think I’ve got a couple of video clips, though I’m not sure they both still play on my machine. I was thinking of the one that shows the burst and ‘chute deployment, and the one that shows the jet zipping by. I might even show some video of last year’s Twin Falls flight that was shot from Dan’s RC plane.
Regarding the ISRA newsletter paragraph; I thought I might talk about why we like to fly to near-space. Are there any of you writers out there that would like to try to answer this question? I’ll submit an eye-catching near-space photo too. Any suggestions?
Who knows; maybe we’ll spark some serious interest in someone at the ISRA meeting and get the TVNSP group flying again.
Thank you in advance for all your help.
Best regards,
Tony – N7MTZ
