Description

Tyvan (aka Tuvan, Tuvinian, Tyva dyl) is a little-known Turkic language from southern Siberia. It is spoken by around 200,000 people in the Republic of Tyva (Tuva) as well as surrounding areas. Many foreign people are drawn to learning this language due to the popularity of Tyvan throat-singing. Outside of academia (and Tyva), materials for learning the language are few and far between. Actual learners are even more few and far between. I created the Tyvan Learners group for anyone interested in studying the language. It is also open to Tyvan people who would like to learn more about English or Tyvan. To join, simply click on join and also send a short introductory message to the list owner.

Re: Material for practice
It means "thank you". Yes, it should be "chettirdim". "-dym" would not be correct because of vowel harmony rules. Ahmet Toprak http://www.KKUP.org/toprak.html
