Invisible drone

Can a surveillance drone be made virtually invisible? VeraTech,
based in Minnesota, US, thinks so. And patent applications filed
by the company explain how.

"Persistence of vision" turns the fast-moving rotors of any
helicopter into a near-transparent blur, while the slow-moving
body looks solid. Inventor Michael Dammar has come up with a way
of making the whole body of an aircraft spin as it flies, turning
it into a single blur in the sky. This would not evade radar but
should help the aircraft avoid visual identification.

The so-called Phantom Sentinel aircraft is Y-shaped, consisting
of a single long wing attached to two short aerodynamic
extensions which each end in a propeller. And the weight is
carefully balanced so that the centre of mass is positioned
between the two extensions. When the motors are running, the
solid part of the aircraft spins around this centre of mass, and
the longer wing generates lift. The whole thing moves so fast
that persistence of vision turns it into a single blur.

Making the plane sky blue, or largely transparent, should help
conceal it further, Dammar claims. He adds that a camera can be
placed near the centre of mass and used to build a panoramic
picture of the ground below, after software processing.

Hot-foot computing

The idea of wearable computing is appealing. A head-mounted
display can show information processed by a small portable
computer while speech-recognition software can replace keyboard
typing. But how do you move a cursor without a holding a mouse?

Simply move those feet, say three researchers working for Hewlett
Packard in the UK. A magnetic sensor can be attached to one foot
and a transmitter emitting pulsed magnetic signals clipped onto
the other one. As the sensor foot is moved around it continually
calculates its position relative to the other foot, using these
magnetic pulses.

So, moving each foot can correspond to movements of a cursor on
the head-mounted display. Foot-twisting can be used for right or
left mouse clicks and sliding one foot over the ground can be
translated into dragging and dropping. This would allow someone
to use a wearable computer while keeping their hands free for
other tasks.

Self-healing cables

Threading a cable through the chassis of a car, boat or plane can
be tricky. Sharp metal edges can cut the cable insulation,
shorting power and even starting a fire.

Researchers at the University of Vermont, US, have been working
with NASA on a type of cable insulation that heals itself when
breached. The healed section also adds a protective layer against
further damage in future.

The central live wire within the cable is surrounded by a layer
of insulation laced with a soft resin. Glue hardener is also
sealed inside microcapsules that are dispersed within the
insulation layer.

Under normal circumstances the microcapsules keep the hardener
away from the resin, so the cable remains soft and easy to
thread. But if the cable insulation is chafed or breached, the
microcapsules break open to release the hardener. This heals the
insulation and adds a solid section that should prevent further
damage.

A GERMAN lawyer says he hopes to drum up more business by
pursuing state compensation claims for people who believe they
were abducted by aliens.

"There's quite obviously demand for legal advice here", Jens
Lorek said.

"The trouble is, people are afraid of making fools of themselves
in court."

Mr Lorek, a lawyer based in the eastern city of Dresden who
specialises in social and labour law, said he hoped to expand his
client base by taking on the unusual work.

He has yet to win any abduction claims, but says there are plenty
of potential clients, noting that extra-terrestrial watchdogs
report scores of alien assaults every year.

"These people could appeal for therapies or cures," he said.

Mr Lorek, 41, is pinning his hopes for success on a German law
which grants kidnap victims the right to state compensation.

Asked if he was worried he might look ridiculous by seeking
justice for clients haunted by aliens, Mr Lorek was untroubled.

"Nobody has laughed about it up until now," he said.

The sinister characters "Men in Black" (MIB) have, with minor
variations, appeared to many UFO witnesses, usually warning them not
to report their UFO sighting or experience.
Typically, MIB are dressed in black, pristine but old-fashioned
suits and hats with white shirts and they quite often travel in
threes. Often they have been reported to have been wearing wrap-
around sunglasses and when they are not, have been reported to have
oriental features with slanted eyes. Strangely, their mode of
transport is reported to be a Cadillac or other prestige model of
car which looks brand new but has long been out of production! The
vehicle's license plates, when checked, invariably turn out to be
false or unissued numbers.
MIB often resemble humourless G-Men, may be able to produce some
form of I.D. or claim to be from a "Government Department", claiming
to have detailed knowledge of a person's life – a "We know all about
you" attitude. In deed there is no doubt that on occasions MIB have
been in possession of information and there was no explanation as to
how they obtained it. Often they know of a UFO experience before the
witness has had the chance to discuss the event with anyone else.
It is a commonly held theory that MIB represent part of the alleged
government cover-up of UFO incidents and official knowledge of them.

Well, my real name is Suzanne, but all of you in here can call me Sue
if you wish. I'm 36 years old & I am from Lower Michigan, & just like
all of you in here I have always had a strong belief that we are
never completely alone in this or any other universe that may
actually exist outside our own. I also have always believed that
ghosts, hauntings, spirits, angels & spirit guides are all real. I

& watching various TV specials on various Paranormal subjects that I
realized that i was alone & was actaully experiecing Astral
Projections, which are better known as the Out Of Body Experience.
I've also had other various Paranormal related things happen to me to
various degrees throughout my life, like actually having two
Premenitions which Both eventually did come true, as well as being
able to hear other Astral Beings, every now & then. I also believe
that I may have also seen three separate UFO's at differant times
throughout my life, the first being when I was about 3 or 4 years
old, the second when I was about 18, & the last UFO experiece for me
was just a few years ago while I was at college. Now I am Not saying
that any of the three objects that I actually saw were in fact of
Alien origan, but all three objects I did in fact see moving acrossed
my Lower Michigan sky's in odd, mysterious ways, & all three were
moving very quietly across Michigan, so Yeah I don't actually believe
that we are the only one's that exist in any known Universe. I also
truely believe that they are currently trying to get our attention &
trying to get us to listen to them through the use of forming
Cropcircles, Groundcircles & Icecircles. Prehaps they are also
responsible for forming Stonehedge & the Ancient Eyptian Pyramids, I
have actually wondered this for the longest time. I presonally feel
that these "Aliens" really want us to listen to what they have to say
because they actually do have a message for all of us, for all of
mankind to hear. I also believe that Psychics are real, & that
everyone does have this ability to various degrees. I would also say
that I am also a highly Intuitive individual, to the point were it
does seem that I'll get weird Gut feelings about various people,
situations or places, & these "feelings" seems to always be correct,
or pretty darn close to being right on. Have I actually seen a real
Ghost? Only other astral beings, (rather died or alive) & I have also
felt them too, & as crazy or odd I may sound to all of you here, I
have actually found that for the most part, they are Not there to
harm you..... I do believe that everything we all do individually
does come right back to all of us, even if it takes a long time for
us to actually see this happen, so I am indeed a believe in Karma, &
in helping others too. I was also told at the age of 21, by a real
psychic, who's seems to have been right so far with everthing that
she actually told me during that reading, at least so far anyway,...
that I actually did exist long ago in a previous incarnation in a
previous Lifetime, so I also do believe in Reicarnation as well. I
was also told during this same reading, that actually inherited my
ESP/Intuiative gifts from my father's Genetic DNA. No, I am Not a nut
case & everything that I have just told you all here is 100% true. I
don't really have any reason to make things up nor do I ever lie to
others & never will. What would be the point? I just don't usually
discuss my own personal Paranormal experiences with others, for fear
of being looked upon as a "Psycho". which I am not. All of my

Unbeknownst to many others, when they (USAF) closed the book on
continued investigations, i.e. Project Gridge & Project Bluebook, they
only intended to close the book on us! therefore any continued
investigations were conducted in secret and thus explains why we have
been continued to be kept outside of any official disclosure.

NASA was formed in 1958 and from the start a number of it's
astronauts and test pilots testified to  sighting UFOs or craft of
undetermined origin. Initially Joseph Walker was the first to
announce a sighting - he told the National Conference on the
Peaceful Uses of Space Research in 1962 that he had an aerial
encounter with two disc-shaped objects the previous month. He had
actually filmed the encounter.
In April 1962, NASA pilot, Joseph Walker, filmed five cylindrical
and disc-shaped objects from his X-15 aircraft. Another test pilot,
reported an incident involving a formation of UFOs whilst flying at
314,000 feet.
NASA refused to reveal any evidence that might substantiate the
pilots' claims - photographs or films were never released.

Just recently details of an amazing case of a UFO and an abduction attempt
have been released for public consumption. Although details have just hit
the airwaves, it occurred in December, 2004, in Massachusetts. According to
the eye witness accounts of husband and wife, Robert and Anne, the eerie
encounter began when they saw a large, glowing white ball on December 12 at
about 7:10 PM. Robert described the unknown as "a huge ball of brilliant
white light coming toward the house from the west." The object was only
slightly above the tree tops, and soon moved even closer to their house. The
immense glowing ball was estimated to be the length of 2-3 football fields
long. (600-900 ft.)

According to Massachusetts Residents Share Details of Reported UFO Encounter
the glowing light hovered for several minutes before it emitted a pale blue
beam of light that grabbed his wife, floating her above the patio. Her
husband, now frantic, grabbed his wife with one hand, and the sliding door
to the house with the other, managing to get her inside. She was unconscious
at the time. He put his wife on the couch, and noticed the object was gone.
Soon, his sister, who lived 5 miles away, called telling him that she and
her husband had seen a glowing light flying parallel to the ground. It had a
blue beam underneath. In addition to the harrowing experience, soon strange
things began to happen in their house. Folks, check out this great account.

Hi Folks,

I hadn't received any mailings from Mr. Honey for quite a while so
I emailed him and received the following answer:

"I have been ill and in the VA hospital for some time and without a
computer accessible is has been unable for me to communicate with
anyone. I am out now but 1000 miles from my home so I have no access
to the people on my mailing list.

In addition, as if that wasn't enough, someone went into my office
just before I was hospitalized and destroyed my computer and I had to
get a new one,  The new hard drive I had recently installed was
damaged to where data was not recoverable.

I would appreciate it if you could pass the word along to your mailing
list so those who are also on mine will know why nothing has been sent
out from me for some time. I have lost all communication with my
entire mailing list and it will be some time yet before I will be able
to notify anyone of the reason."
