As some of you might be aware, eGroups has been merged with Yahoo.

What does this mean to you?  If you never visit the web site, nothing.
But if you spend time at the eGroups site (now Yahoo) you'll be seeing
quite a few changes, in appearance at least.

Instead of logging into http://www.egroups.com you will now log into:
                   http://groups.yahoo.com/
(don't worry about remembering it, you will be automatically 'redirected')

You will have to have a Yahoo ID. If you already have a Yahoo email
address then you have a Yahoo ID. If not, it is easy to get one...
just log in and follow directions.

One other possible effect is for those who Filter their email. If you
have a Filter set which includes the List's email address, that Filter
will no longer work. The New email address looks like this:
                     ListName@yahoogroups.com

The old email addresses will continue to work indefinitely but you
might want to modify your Address Books to limit the chances for
potential errors.

Other than that, the List mail will be delivered as usual.

Please continue to participate on the lists as you normally would.

I am aware of this effect, and I sympathize, it is the result of our
education system not wanting its pupils to try thinking for themselves. If
you sit at lessons and try to make sense of what is being said, then you
lose track of what is being said, as the lesson races ahead. It is far
easier to just sit there and listen, and at exams just to regurgitate it
all. This scenario is described by the common joke  - the notes of the
lecturer are transferred to the notes of the students without it going
through the minds of any of them. When you were trying to understand the
simple subjects, you must have engaged in thinking, and when you found
difficulty with this you gave up. The lessons then progressed onto difficult
subjects, by which time you had given up thinking about it, and were thus
finding it easy, because you were then on this type of 'automatic' -
absorbing information without thinking about whether it made sense and
passing it on as exam answers.

I have talked to others about this strange phenomenon, and the agreement is
that during University there is no time to stop and think about the science,
it is only later if you have time to reflect on it all, that you realize
that it does not make sense. It is in this manner that scientists are
subjected to mass hypnosis. And having hypnotized its members, it then
ensures they remain hypnotized by use of peer pressure, knowledge filter
etc. When I was explaining how a theory can work based on the equivalence
Principle, I was reducing it to simple terms, and the simple terms such as
'point' you appear to have no proper understanding of, as you admit "Easy
things were always hard for me". It is time that you awoke from your trance.

I find this conversation 'pointless' unless you can explain to me a reason
as to why you believe that what has been called inertial force,
gravitational force etc., might not be all manifestations of the same thing.
Why insist on calling them different things. A force is mass x acceleration.
What does it matter how the force is created, it is still mass x
acceleration.

I thus close this conversation on UFONET (if you wish to carry on, then do
so to my personal e-mail) , and will in a future listing explain about
Ancient usage of Antigravity.

Just got my e-mail back up and running.

Almost made the same error myself but chickened out when I saw that the stationary file was a program not a file.

Glad my caution prevailed.

I notice this sort of 'oh, sorry my mistake' type of advertising is becoming prevalant on e-groups, maybe the e-group controlers ought to remove them before they get posted. Anyway i trust the sender will be banned after this back door promotional crap is recognised as inappropriate behaviour.

If you have still have problems with it, give me a ring and we may be able to kick it out of the registry, with any luck all the registry items will be self named and easy to remove. if you still have problems we ought to contact the vendor and ask for advice on how to remove it. The trouble with programs is that they alter the settings in other areas. If you have loaded ME it may have a 'back to the original registry' thing built in.

Do you have any 'oops' type software?,it wont help you now with this but it could save headaches in the future, there are acouple of these about, my Norton System Works has one built in.

    could produce it is real enough. At least one Russian submarine is
    armed with torpedoes that exploit it. The same idea is being used to

    CHUPACABRAS ATTACK A FAMILY'S HOME IN CALAMA

    Four Chupacabras attacked a family's home in a rural district of
    Calama, Chile early Friday morning, January 19, 2001, killing six
    chickens and a rooster.

    "A family from the barrio O'Higgins (neighborhood) lived through
    several frightening hours after having encountered four very strange
    beasts in their backyard. Neighbors are fearful that it could
    represent a mass attack by so-called Chupacabra creatures."

    "The affected parties, who live in Calle Sargento Aldea 3445 (street)
    were still unable to convince themselves (of the reality--S.C.) of
    this singular episode in their lives."

    The house's owner, Elena W., "was awakened by the of her chickens were
    kept in a cage in her backyard.. But there were no words to describe
    her astonishment when she went out to see what was going on and found
    herself facing four creatures working in unison to open the birdcage."

    "'At first I thought they were dogs, although I was startled by the
    fact that they were larger and more hairy,'" she said.

    She said she did nothing at first but merely stared at in which two of
    the beings worked to open the gate 'while the others watched, as if
    trained or had thought patterns similar to humans.'"

    "She remarked that, overcoming her fear, she grabbed a club and tried
    to scatter them away, but the animals' attitude left her petrified.
    They passed by her so quickly 'that I didn't see them running, I only
    felt the wind left in their wake as they went past my side.'"

    Sra. W. said, "she screamed for her husband to help her, He ran out of
    the house and after the creatures but he couldn't find any trace of
    the immense animals when he got to the end of the street. ."

    "'It was all so strange, as if the critters had vanished into thin air
    or had been teleported to a different location,'" Sr. W. said.

    ""After the commotion, the entire family investigated the henhouse and
    found six dead chickens and one dead rooster, all of which bore the
    telltale marks of the mythic Chupacabras."

    "The birds were not devoured but they were left dry (drained of
    blood--J.T.) with a single wound under the wings. Furthermore, the pen
    was well-secured and, to judge from the creatures' size, they would
    have brought the whole structure crashing down if they'd tried to put
    a foot on the roof,:

    "She claimed that at 3:30 a.m. the chickens were still alive 'because
    the rooster crowed and we were watching movies until four o'clock in
    the morning, and we still can't explain how the creatures got into the
    enclosure,'" Sra. W. said."then killed the birds noiselessly and then
    abandoned the premises. It could only be that they flew.'"

    "But the strangest thing for the family was that their three guard
    dogs were not even stirred by the presence of the four intruders in
    the backyard. 'Only when I screamed for my husband did the oldest of
    the digs wake up to defend me, without the poor thing being able to

    LUMINOUS SAUCER CAUSES A BLACKOUT IN BRAZIL

    Four seaside cities in southern Brazil suffered a massive power
    blackout on Thursday night, January 11m 2001 when a luminous saucer
    overflew the area.

    All electrical power was lost in the communities of Santos, Cubatao,
    Sao Vicente and Praia Grande Picaras. All are located along Brazil's
    South Atlantic shore, just southeast of Sao Paulo, which is the
    largest city in South America.

    "Following a sudden and unexplained power failure in the region, UFOs
    were seen over Cubatao and Santos and also in Sao Vicente and on the
    beach in Praia Grande Picaras. The UFOs remained in view for
    approximately 20 minutes. The situation took place at about 3:30 a.m."

    "The blackout was lifted technicians and power line workers restored
    electricity to the area." Brazil's "Policia Militar were contacted by
    several Brazilian ufologists but gave no explanation for the sightings
    or the blackout."

    According to Sra. Carmina Moura de Freitas, "My daughter and her
    friends were having a party on the beach party on the beach" at Praia
    Grande Picaras "when the lights all went out. While they were
    listening to the (battery-powered) radio, they heard a burst of
    static. They looked up and saw a glowing disc flying out to sea,"
    heading southeast towards the South Atlantic Ocean. (Muito obrigado

    TRIANGULAR UFO HOVERS OVER THE ISLE OF MAN

    On Sunday, January 14, 1001, at 4:20 p.m., "a large object had been
    seen above Snaefell mountain, on the north side of the Isle of Man in
    the Irish Sea.

    "A triangular UFO was observed hovering near a (BBC) radio mast at the
    summit" of Snaefell. Man is a small island west of Wales in UK.

    "The police have searched but they have no clues to the mystery
    centered on the summit of Snaefell mountain."

    "A full search, including the RAF, IOM (Isle of Man--J.T.) Coastguard,
    Fire services, Civil Defence and IOM Constabulary, has failed to find
    any trace of evidence following reports of an aircraft at the top of
    the mountain. The police received reports yesterday of a large object
    had been seen above Snaefell."

    "The reports said that it appeared to strike the large communications
    mast on the summit. An immediate search of the area, including a
    helicopter from RAF Valley," an air base in Anglesey, Wales, UK,
    "failed to find any trace of an accident but continued with the search
    until 11:10 p.m."

    "The police still have no clue as to what it was that had been
    reported to hit the mast and are appealing to anybody who may have
    been around Snaefell at 4:20 p.m. yesterday who may have seen anything
    unusual on the northern side of the island."

    UFO Roundup is presently trying to track down an Isle of Man resident
    who reportedly shot three to four minutes of video footage of the
    mystery object with his camcorder. The footage reportedly shows a dark
    triangular object with three red lights, one at each corner, hovering
    above the tall radio mast. More information will be reported as it

    MYSTERIOUS SKY BOOM JOLTS ASHTABULA, OHIO

    "Residents are still wondering what caused a boisterous boom
    accompanied by a quivering of the ground late Friday," January 19,
    2001, "evening. Police and fire dispatchers fielded several calls from
    folks in Saybrook and Ashtabula Townships and in Ashtabula (population
    22,000) who felt the unexplainable tremor around 9:13 p.m. and wanted
    to know what was going on."

    "The two-to-three-second vibration--similar to what one might
    experience in an explosion--occurred just minutes before a gas main on
    East 27th Street in Ashtabula Township was reported by an
    Ohio-American Water crew using a backhoe to fix a water line
    (pipe--J.T.) leak."

    "Officials say the two incidents are unrelated."

    "'The seismographic site did report some kind of blip,' Ed Semppi,
    director of the Ashtabula County Emergency Management Agency said,
    'But there's no reason as to what happened yet.'"

    "Semppi received a call from an Ashtabula County Sheriff's Office
    stating that officials from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources
    (DNR) Geologic Survey in Columbus had noticed a tremor-like vibration
    at their Jefferson-based seismographic site."

    "Three other local seismographic sites, located, located at Lakeland
    Community College in Kirtland; Lake Erie College in Painseville; and
    the Museum of Natural History in Cleveland, had no indication of any
    seismic activity. 'It could have been in the lake close to our site,
    not close to their sites,' Stemppi said."

    Ashtabula is on Ohio Route 20 approximately 91 miles (145 kilometers)

    (Editor's Comment: Ashtabula was the scene of several UFO sightings
    during the year 2000. It sounds as if there was a saucer lying on the
    bottom of Lake Erie just offshore.)

    DARK OBLONG UFO SEEN IN VANDERBILT, PENNSYLVANIA

    On Thursday evening, January 18, 2001, Matthew I. was outdoors in his
    hometown of Vanderbilt Pennsylvania when he saw an unusual object in
    the night sky, "approaching from the northwest."

    "We saw lights, different colored, which appeared to be together"
    around the object. "They flew really close to each other. I also got
    it on film. The lights were round and blinking with white, red,
    yellow, blue and green. I watched it move around" for a few minutes
    "before it left." (Email Form Report)

    CALIFORNIA WOMAN REPORTS PRINCESS DIANA MIRACLE

    A 72-year-old Los Angeles woman claims to have seen an apparition of
    Princess Diana during a near-death experience (NDE) during her heart
    operation.

    Mrs. Gladys Higgins, 72, reported, "As I lay on the operating table, I
    died not once but twice. Yet I'm here to tell about it, thanks to my
    guardian angel," Princess Diana, who died in an automobile crash in
    Paris in August 1997.

    "It happened on September 2, 1997, when I had heart-valve replacement
    surgery."

    "Suddenly, I felt a terrible excruciating pain, and I whooshed
    backward out of my body. I found myself in a deep ravine filled with
    thick grass. Realizing I was dead, I screamed, 'No! I won't go.'"

    "As I tried to claw my way back, I heard the surgical team saying,
    'She's gone.'"

    "Again I screamed, 'I'm not dead! I won't go!'"

    "My 'spirit' body hovered above the doctors and nurses as they got my
    'physical' body ready for an emergency bypass. Horrible creatures
    beckoned to me, but I begged, 'Please, not yet.'"

    "Then I saw a wondrous golden light above me and realized it was
    Princess Diana, who had died only days before."

    "'This is awful,' I said to her, 'I'm not supposed to die.'"

    "'Neither was I,' she answered serenely, with that wonderful smile she
    always had."

    "Suddenly, I heard the doctors yelling, 'She's back! She's back!'"

    "Later, I learned that during the five-hour operation, the doctors had
    told my three daughters, my son and my grandchildren to pray for me. I
    was clinically dead twice, but I'm here today, blessed by the best
    guardian angel in the world--Princess Diana, God rest her soul." (See

    (Editor's Comment: If these miracles keep up, by the time of the
    centennial of her birth in the 2060s, the late Princess of Wales will
    be known as Saint Diana of Althorp.)

    "GOD'S ARMY" THROWS IN THE TOWEL IN THAILAND

    God's Army, a formation of Keren rebels who invaded Myanmar (formerly
    Burma--J.T.) two years ago, led by two pre-teen prophets, surrendered
    to the military authorities in northern Thailand last week.

    On Tuesday, January 16, 2001, "the twin adolescent leaders of a
    Burmese rebel band and 14 followers surrendered to Thai authorities"
    at a border military checkpoint.

    "God's Army, led by Luther and Johnny Htoo, is an offshoot of the
    Kerent National Union, an ethnic Keren militia that has waged a
    long-running fight for autonomy against the military government of
    Burma, also known as Myanmar. The group's followers believe that the
    twins have mystical powers."

    After the "last platoon" surrendered their weapons to the Thai
    soldiers, Johnny Htoo and his chain-smoking brother, Luther Htoo,
    asked the commandant if they could rejoin their parents, who are now
    living at a Keren refugee camp in northern Thailand. (See USA Today

    During his meeting with the White House staff on Monday, January 22,
    2001, incoming USA President George W. Bush said, "I want it said of
    us that promises made were promises kept." (See USA Today for January
    23, 2001, "President orders staff to fall in line." page 6A.)

    Last summer, Mr. President, when asked by a MUFON representative from
    Texas, you stated that you would be willing to open heretofore Top
    Secret files to ufologists and other researchers. The UFO community
    hopes that you will keep this promise.

    I realize that current defense concerns, which for the sake of
    national security, cannot be shared with the general public, may
    prohibit you from releasing more recent UFO material. However, I would
    hope that you would be willing to declassify UFO material that is
    several decades old.

    To be specific, UFO Roundup would like to see you drop the Class A
    National Defense Secret rating from old War Department and Navy
    Department files regarding UFO phenomena during the period January 1,
    1910 through December 31, 1930.

    This material will include any UFO sightings or related phenomena
    reported by the early Army Air Corps under Gen. Benjamin Foulois,
    reports from Army Air Corps pursuit squadrons that may have
    encountered UFOs in Europe during World War One, and reports of UFO

    1791: HILLARY'S HAUNTED NEIGHBORHOOD

    Last weekend Hillary Rodham Clinton vacated the premises at the White
    House, located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C. But the
    former First Lady turned Senator from New York state still has a home
    in the District of Columbia.

    "Welcome to 3067 Whitehaven Street in Washington, D.C. the new $2.8
    million home of Sen. Hillary Clinton--which she hopes to turn into a
    house fit for a former First Lady with the help of good-taste guru
    Martha Stewart.

    The three-story, red-brick Georgian house was rather recent, having
    been built in 1951. The house boasts "seven-and-a-half baths, a
    fireplace, heated pool and a spacious back yard" with also "a
    slate-floored foyer and a solid cherry wood spiral staircase that
    leads to the second floor."

    Whitehaven Street is in the Massachusetts Avenue Heights section of
    the city. Most people know the area as Embassy Row. But to students of
    the occult, the neighborhood has another name...Spookville.

    Prior to 1600, where Washington D.C. stands today was the site of a
    centuries-old village called Nacotchtant, the home of the Nanticoke,
    an indigenous people of southern Maryland. The nanticoke worshipped
    Okee (pronounced Oh-kay-ay meaning the One Above--J.T.). The people
    preserved the bones of dead chiefs and spiritual advisors and buried
    them in jars in large ossuaries. Most importantly, the Nanticoke "were
    noted for their skill in sorcery and the manufacture of many poisons,"
    as well as their trademark soapstone dishware.

    In 1633, the first European arrived on Maryland's Potomac River shore.
    His name was Francis Pope. He purchased the land, renaming the area
    "Rome" and changing the name of Goose Creek to "the Tiber. But the
    woodlands reclaimed his ill-fated plantation after his departure.

    When the Congress of the newly-independent USA decided to make the
    area the nation's capital, the land was owned by a number of people,
    including the Carrolls of Duddington Hall and David Burnes, who owned
    a one-and-a-half story farmhouse between Goose Creek and Jenkins Hill.

    On March 9, 1791, Pierre-Charles L'Enfant, a French soldier and
    military artist who had fought on the American side in the recent war,
    arrived in Georgetown to survey the proposed city site. David Burnes
    brought him to the farmhouse and introduced him to his wife, the
    former Anne Wight, his teenaged son John and his younger daughter
    Marcia.

    Following supper, as the men lit their clay pipes at the fireplace,
    David Burnes turned to his offspring and winked. "Well, children,
    shall we show the mon-soor (monsieur--J.T.) our little secret?"

    John grinned. "Absolutely, Father!"

    "Oh, yes, let's show him!" Marcia said excitedly. "We'll go the first
    thing tomorrow."

    So, the next morning, March 10, 1791, a slightly puzzled L'Engant
    trailed Burnes and the children into the woods along Goose Creek. The
    air was lively with the honking of Canada geese, stopping briefly
    during their long migration northward on the Atlantic Flyway. They
    walked nearly two miles uphill, into what is now known as
    Massachusetts Avenue Heights. David carried with him an armload of
    makeshift torches, John a knotted climbing rope, and Marcia a small
    leather pouch in which she held a hot coal from the farmhouse
    fireplace.

    Mildly curious, L'Enfant watched as David and son John cleared away a
    pile of cut lilac bushes, revealing a dark fissure in the ground.
    Meanwhile, Marcia built a fire with her coal and some dry sticks.

    After tying one end of the rope to the tree, John acted as the spotter
    as his father climbed hand over hand down the rope. L'Enfant followed
    suit, slipping over the crumbling rim into the cool darkness. Then
    John lit two of the torches at the campfire and dropped them, one by
    one, into the small cavern fissure.

    David Burnes caught the first torch and passed it to the Frenchman.
    Then, grabbing the second sputtering torch, he said, "Look behind
    you."

    L'Enfant did so. He gasped in amazement. Before him lay a manmade
    tunnel, complete with arches and pillars, extending far into the
    darkness.

    "Mon Dieu!" he swore, looking around in wonder. "Qu'est-ce que c'est?"
    Turning to Burnes, he asked, "What is this place?"

    "It's a dead city, like Nineveh and Jericho in the Bible," David
    replied. "These tunnels go on for miles."

    "Who built it?" L'Enfant asked.

    "Why, Tubalcain, of course." David beamed, lifting his torch to
    illuminate the smooth tunnel wall. "He was the master builder in the
    Bible." (Burnes knew his scripture. See Genesis 4:22--J.T.).

    L'Enfant brushed his hand over the seamless masonry. The material felt
    like Plaster of Paris. He struck it a sharp blow with the base of his
    roaring torch. The material wasn't even chipped! It was as durable as
    cast iron!

    With a shudder, L'Enfant peered down the shadowy corridor. He didn't
    know who had built this place, but he was pretty sure it wasn't
    Tubalcain.

    According to author Jim Brandon, "I was told by two different
    commercial seers of the ancient network of caverns that supposedly
    honeycombs the area. I have heard it claimed that these are
    'Atlantean'...but then so is everything else, according to a certain
    kind of occult fancier Others conclude that the supposed tunnels were,
    or are, tied in with an underground cult of power trippers."

    It is not known how the Burnes family learned of the tunnels'
    existence. They may have been told by an elderly Nanticoke spiritual
    advisor. Or perhaps the children were picking berries on a hot July
    day a couple of years earlier and felt the cool breeze from the
    fissure.

    The tunnels are said to run underneath the major avenues in
    Washington, with smaller branch tunnels going down, among others,
    Whitehaven Street.

    Bu the "Tubalcain Tunnel" isn't the only attraction in Spookville.

    Just up the street from Hillary's house, at 3007 Whitehaven Street, is
    the Embassy of Brazil. Some weird critters have been seen at this
    location over the years. Most notably in March 1968, after the
    assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King in Memphis, Tennessee. During
    the riot blackout, some of the embassy staffers reportedly claimed to
    have seen a strangee quadruped, "like a horse with no head," in the
    garden.

    At 3100 Massachusetts Avenue is the UK Embassy, which was the site of
    "a Miracle of the Flowers" at the end of August 1997. Nearly a million
    people paid homage to Princess Diana by leaving bouquets of flowers at
    the embassy gates.

    However, a flower of a far more sinister kind can be found a few
    blocks away at the Organization of American States (OAS) building at
    the corner of 17th Street and Constitution Avenue N.W. Behind the
    building is "a pebbled and landscaped little garden" with a very
    unusual statue.

    The idol is a gift from Mexico and it represents Xochipilli, the Aztec
    god of flowers. It certainly gave your editor a nasty turn the first
    time he saw it. The blood used to run in torrents from Xochipilli's
    pyramid in Tenochtitlan (modern Mexico City--J.T.) as the Aztecs
    worshipped him with hallucinogenic drug feasts and thousands of human
    sacrifices.

    (Editor's Comment: Warning to psychics--if you value your sanity, you
    will not try to psychometrize that statue.)

    Although the White House, the Octagon House and the Decatur House take
    the top honors for ghostly apparitions in Washington D.C., there is a
    haunted house in the area. It's the Woodrow Wilson House at 2340 S
    Street N.W. Not only does this house have a resident ghost, it was the
    site of a strange prophecy, part of which has already come true.

    In April 1969, Vasquez, the custodian, began reporting strange noises
    and "cold spots." Parapsychologist Hans Holzer decided to investigate.
    He joined Washington psychic Ethel Meyers in an attempt to "scan" the
    house. And they made contact with the ghost--Woodrow Wilson, who was
    president of the USA between 1913 and 1921.

    Wilson is best remembered for leading the USA during World War One and
    his failure to persuade the Congress to accept membership in the
    League of Nations. When Wilson manifested to Holzer and Mrs. Meyers,
    he made a weird prophecy. Here it is, verbatim:

    Wilson: "I want to say, if you will give me the audience while I am
    here, that this is my pleasurable moment, to lift the curtain to show
    you that the mortal enemy (the then-Soviet Union--J.T.) will become
    the great friend, soon now. That my puny dream of yesteryear (the
    League of Nations) has been gradually realized--the brotherhood of ma,
    And it becomes clearer, closer to the next century. It is here, for us
    on our side: I see it more clearly from here. I am not sure about the
    designated time. But it is the brotherhood of man, when the religious
    problem is lifted and the truth is seen, and all men stand equal to
    other men, neighbors, enemies."

    Holzer: "Who are you referring to?"

    Wilson: "I come back again to tell you, that the hands that will reach
    over the mighty ocean will soon clasp! Hands lead forward to grasp
    them. My puny dream, my pure ideal, takes form, and I look upon it and
    I am proud as a small part but an integral part of that. It will
    bloom, the period of gestation is almost over, when this will come to
    light. And I give great thanks to the Withinness that I have had so
    small a part in the integral whole. I tell you it is all a part of the
    period of gestation before the dawn."

    Holzer: "When will the dawn come?"

    Wilson: "Just before the turn of the century. Eighty-eight,
    eighty-nine."

    Holzer: "And until then?"

    Wilson: "The period of gestation must go through its torturous ways.
    But it will dawn, it will dawn and not only on this terra firma. It
    will dawn even over this city, and it (Washington D.C.) will be more a
    part of the world-state as I saw it in my very close view of the
    world. I was given this dream, and I have lived by it."

    Holzer: "Do you want us to do anything about your family, or your
    friends? Tell them anything specifically?"

    A more complete rendition of what Holzer and Mrs. Meyers encountered
    in the old Wilson House can be found in Holzer's 1971 book, The Ghosts
    That Walk in Washington.

    Just as Wilson's ghost predicted, then-President Richard M. Nixon was
    working on his detente policy with the Soviet Union, leading to his
    summit meeting with Leonid Brezhnev in 1972. And in 1989, the Berlin
    Wall came down, Germany reunified, and Mikhail Gorbachez began his
    policy of glasnost, i.e. friendly relations with the USA. A year
    later, then-President George Bush, the new president's father,
    announced the beginning of "the New World Order."

    Will the rest of the ghostly prophecy come true? Time will tell.

    As for those weird tunnels under the city, perhaps we can find a clue
    to their origin in the name of the city's riverside Anacostia
    district. Anacostia is a corruption of the Babticoke word Analostan,
    which means New Atlantis.

UFO Hotspots in the USA

I have always been interested in UFO's, yet I have never seen one (that I
remember) except for an occasional TV show. My girlfriend saw one, my
friends have seen them too. I feel that they are mostly government projects
but I do think that we are being watched by other beings.

I have put together a compilation of information on UFO hot spots in the
USA. Although sightings occur all over our country all the time, there seem
to be pockets of intense activity. I want to give those interested the best
chance of viewing this phenomena.

Obviously there will be more sightings in populated areas and down stretches
of major highways. More people- more sightings.

First, here are some statistics from research done over a ten year period:

BEST MONTHS: March and September (and January)
WORST MONTH: June
BEST DAY: Wednesday
BEST TIME: around 9:00pm, consistently for over 50 years of tracking.

So if you want to see one, be at the right location any Wednesday in March
or September about 9:00pm and gaze into the sky! I'm sort of kidding, but I
would be curious to know if it works for you.

Here is a list of locations which I will update periodically as I get more
information:



THE HOTTEST TOWNS OR CITIES...

Gulf Breeze, FL- This has been all over "Sightings" and on the specials on
TV. You can go to the beach on the Gulf panhandle near Pensacola and be
entertained for hours by all the lights moving about. Sort of a parnaormal
4th of July. It's a nightly event.

Corydon, Indiana- This has been listed in one resource over a long time as
being a top sight. It is a small town just west of Lousville, KY in the
southern part of the state. There is a lot of activity in Indiana and I will
give you the rest coming up.

Anza Valley, California- I am assuming this is just just west of San Diego.

Elk River, Minnesota- Just to the north and west of Minneapolis, another
little town.

Lincolnton, North Carolina- Here is yet another little hamlet just outside
of Charlotte to the northeast.

Pine Bush, New York- This teeny town of about 1500 is located in southern NY
state just north east of Middletown.

North Bergen, New Jersey- Situated on the Hudson river directly opposite New
York City, this small city has experienced over 7,000 sightings over a 5
year period.

Those are the specific towns or cities where activity has been heavy over
the years.

Here is a run-down of areas within the states with a good concentration of
sightings. Be on the look-out if you are driving through these areas at
night.



HOT AREAS IN KEY STATES...

Colorado- This is the San Luis Valley area in the south central area SW of
Colorado Springs, especially from Saguache south east to Interstate 25. This
is a really heavy location.

Florida- There is a triangle running from Orlando to Tampa Bay with the
north apex equidistant, in the middle of nowhere. Also scattered anywhere
from Jacksonville to Miami straight down the east coast (they seem to like
the beach!) There are a few for the millionaire's haven, Boca Raton,
including an episode of missing time from one observer.

Indiana- For some reason they like Indiana a lot. There is heavy activity
from Evansville area up through Bloomington to Indianapolis and from there
up to South Bend. If you follow that line, you will see the main UFO trail
emerge. Other areas are up by Lake Michigan and down by Richmond, near the
Ohio border. Of all the states, Indiana has the most number of different
places where re-occuring sightings occur.

Washington- If you take and draw a ring around the Puget Sound area (there's
that water thing again), you will hit pay dirt. That's the main area. Then
there is a section in Wahkiakum County in the SW corner, just over the
border from Oregon. There is also an area in and around the Yakima Indian
Reservation outside Yakima, especially at Trout Lake and around Mount Adams.

California- Besides down by San Diego and L.A., there is a stretch that
leads from San Fransisco north and east to the center of the state, then
following north almost to the border of Oregon. Mostly following route 5 I
would say.

North Carolina- I've mentioned the Lincolntown area. Then there is a line
from Winston-Salem curving south to beyond Rocky Mount.

Oklahoma- From Tulsa to Oklahoma City and just south of there. Also, NW of
Dodge City, Lane County recieves a lot of activity for the sparseness of the
population.

Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire- If you draw a line from the
south east border of RI and go up to Concord, New Hampshire, there are spots
all along there.

New Jersey- Around north east Jersey and New York City, which would make
sense considering the numbers of people populating that area. But there is
also some activity down the coast.

Pennsylvania- I already mentioned this. In and around Pittsburgh and over to
Johnstown it's heavy.

Michigan- In a line leading from Pontiac up through Flint and to the Saginaw
Bay. Then there is some sporadic activity up and down the coast of Lake
Michigan.

Minnesota and Wisconsin- All around the Minneapolis and St.Paul area and
particularly Pepin County, WI just over the Minnestota border.

Missouri- Mostly in the western part of the state in a rough line from
Springfield up to St. Joseph. Also particularly, Knox County, another
sparsley populated area in the extreme NE section of the state.

Ohio- Mostly around the Cincinatti area , but there is a trail leading from
there, northeast to Columbus and up to Akron.

Ilinois- Has a few from St, Louis up the center of the state to Rockford,
which is quite hot.

Montana- Almost exactly center-state, west of Butte, from Judith Basin
County southeast into Wheatland County. There are some others, but this is
the heaviest.

West Virginia- This sort of goes with the Ohio area because it is so close
to the border. But there is a lot of activity in rural Mason County, NW of
Charleston.

Nellis Air Force Range, Nevada- This large area just northwest of Las Vegas
has long been frequented by extremely strange phenomena. This is the home of
the now famous "secret" Area 51 at Groom Lake, inside the base.

Siberia was shut down for an hour and a half on Friday when an unidentified
flying object (UFO) was detected hovering above its runway, the Interfax
news agency reported.

The crew of an Il-76 cargo aircraft refused to take off, claiming they saw a
luminescent object hovering above the runway of the Siberia's Barnaul
airport, local aviation company director Ivan Komarov was quoted as saying.

The crew of another cargo plane, refusing to use the runway for the same
reason, landed their jet at another airport, Komarov said.

The UFO took off and vanished from the airport 90 minutes later, according

Event Description:
I was two or three, and it was late at night. I was sleeping in a room at my
grandparents house. The room was on the top floor, and had one window in it.
I remember waking up, looking out the window, and seeing the moon. It was
huge. It took up most of the window's space. I remember being fascinated,
but yet not too thrilled (it was just the moon).

A few days later, and ever since then, I have had a reoccurring dream. Even
though I have had this dream hundreds of times, I can only remember parts of
it. Two in particular. One is a a long round surface (it's big). Like a
landscape. It's spherical, brown, and smooth. I have a sense of peace here.
Like I am safe if ever I am here.

I have another part of the dream I remember. In this, I am walking along a
path (it's two-dimensional, and am walking to the left). I suddenly get to a
big rock, and turn right into a cavern. In this cavern there is a huge
machine. I have the greatest sense of fear here. The machine seemed to be
sending 'hatred' out. This machine is so big, it's above comparison to me.
This is all I remember of the dream.

Later (years) I realized that the big moon, was most likely a UFO. The fact
that I was three at the time might give off a suspicion that I might of made
it up long ago. Well, I may have, but I have never told my parents or anyone
about it (to brag), and I remember it so clearly. It sticks out in my mind
so vividly that if it was false, it was a great lie I let myself believe.

                A leading science museum in the United States
                has decided that Pluto should not be referred
                to as a planet.

                The Rose Center for Earth and Space at the
                American Museum of Natural History in New
                York says Pluto has more in common with
                comets than planets as it is relatively small
                and made of ice.

                A large display of the Solar System, which
                includes a 2.7-metre (9-ft) diameter model of
                Jupiter, consigns Pluto to a footnote.

                "Beyond the outer planets is the Kuiper Belt of
                comets, a disk of small, icy worlds including
                Pluto," says the display.

                Officials are dismissive when why Pluto is
                missing from the Solar System display.

                "It's in the Kuiper Belt," said Neil de Grasse
                Tyson, director of the Hayden Planetarium, at
                the Rose Center. "What's it made of? It's
                mostly ice."

                Museum 'in a different Universe'

                The Rose Center says there is no universal
                definition of a planet. Instead, it divides the
                Solar System into the Sun and five families of
                objects.

                For some astronomers, the museum has gone
                too far.

                "Tyson is so far off
                base with Pluto, it's like
                he's in a different
                Universe," says David
                Levy, author of Clyde
                Tombaugh, Discoverer
                of Planet Pluto.

                "The majority of
                astronomers have said
                that unless there is
                definitive evidence to
                the contrary, Pluto

                There is a precedent to demoting planets. The
                asteroid Ceres was called a planet in 1801 and
                later demoted.

                But Ceres was only considered a planet for a
                year, while Pluto has been a major planet for
                more than 70 years.

                Pluto fights demotion

                When Pluto was discovered in 1930, it was
                thought to be about the same size as Earth,
                but astronomers have now learned that it is
                only 2,274 kilometres (1,413 miles) wide,
                smaller than the Earth's moon.

                Since 1992, when astronomers discovered the
                first Kuiper Belt object, they have found
                hundreds of chunks of rock and ice beyond
                Neptune, including about 70 that share orbits
                similar to Pluto's.

                The International Astronomical Union calls
                Pluto one of nine planets in the Solar System.

                In 1999, a proposal to list Pluto as both a
                planet and a member of the Kuiper Belt was
                abandoned after it drew strong opposition from
                astronomers who did not want to diminish
                Pluto's status.

                The American space agency, Nasa, is currently
                considering whether to send a mission to
                investigate Pluto.

Expedition One crew Bill Shepherd, Yuriy Gidzenko and Sergey Krikalyov
remain on the ISS, awaiting the launch of STS-98. They will be
relieved by the Expedition Two crew which will fly on STS-102
in March.


The Mir station had a power failure on Jan 18, delaying the launch of
the Progress cargo ship that was to deorbit it for a few days. Progress
No. 254, post launch name Progress M1-5, was launched on Jan 24.
According to a report by Anatoliy Zak, the Progress carries  2677 kg of
fuel. Total launch mass is probably around 7300 kg. A special 3-day
fuel-economy approach was be used to keep as much fuel as possibile for
the deorbit, scheduled for Mar 6. Progress M1-5 docked with the +X Kvant
port at 0533 UTC on Jan 27. Progress M-43 undocked at 0519 UTC on Jan 25
from the same port and on Jan 29 was in a 271 x 280 km x 51.6 deg orbit.
On Jan 29, Mir was in a 90.41 min, 284 x 305 km x 51.6 deg orbit.
Since Jan 5, when it dipped below its Jan 2000 orbit, it has been lower
in average height than at any time since orbit insertion in 1986.
In mid-January its perigee dipped below the Nov 1987 record of 286 km.

Current Launches
----------------

The Shenzhou spacecraft reportedly carried a monkey, a dog and a rabbit.

On Jan 27, Turksat 2A was in a 35768 x 35804 km x 0.1 deg, 1436.10 min
geostationary orbit at 41.9 deg E. It entered the geosynchronous region
with a burn on Jan 15 around 0800 UTC which raised the period from
1078.3 to 1428.4 min.

Stardust's closest appoach distance was 6012 km, not 3706 km as I reported
in JSR 444. My mind just can't seem to get around the fact that some people
still use imperial units :-)

I reported the Japan's LDREX experiment as a failure. J-M. Desobeau
correctly pointed out to me that although the LDREX antenna failed to
deploy, strictly as an experiment LDREX was a success, although it
must have been a very disappointing one for NASDA. The experiment
was designed to determine whether the deployment mechanism (planned for
the ETS-8 satellite) worked, and it indeed returned lots of information
on that subject, which hopefully will lead to a successful ETS-8 mission
in the future. (If the video camera or telemetry hadn't functioned, LDREX
would have been a failure, but problems with the antenna deployment were
what LDREX was designed to measure and don't per se make it a failure).

NASA NAMES STS-108 SHUTTLE CREW, STATION EXPEDITION FOUR CREW

      Astronauts have begun training for the STS-108/Utilization
Flight-1 mission to rotate International Space Station crews and
to deliver experiments and scientific racks for the station's
U.S. Laboratory, Destiny.

Dominic L. Gorie (Capt., USN) will command Space Shuttle
Endeavour on STS-108, scheduled for launch late in 2001. The
pilot is Mark E. Kelly (Lt. Cmdr., USN). Mission Specialists
Linda M. Godwin and Daniel M. Tani round out the dedicated-
Shuttle crew.

With them aboard Endeavour on its flight will be the Expedition
Four crew, commanded by cosmonaut Yuri Onufrienko, a Russian Air
Force colonel. Two astronauts, Daniel W. Bursch (Capt., USN) and
Carl E. Walz (Col., USAF), complete the Expedition Four crew.
They will replace the Expedition Three crew, commander Frank
Culbertson and cosmonauts Vladimir N. Dezhurov, a Russian Air
Force lieutenant colonel, and Mikhail Turin, who will return to
Earth on Endeavour.

Gorie will be making his third trip to space. He served as pilot
on both STS-91 in 1998 and STS-99 in 2000. Kelly, selected as an
astronaut candidate in 1996 and making his first space flight,
has held technical positions in the Astronaut Office at NASA's
Johnson Space Center, Houston, TX, since completing his initial
training.

Godwin has served as the deputy chief of the Astronaut Office in
addition to flying on three previous shuttle missions, STS-37 in
1991, STS-59 in 1994, and STS-76 in 1996. During the 1996
mission she performed a six-hour space walk at the Mir space
station. Tani, another space rookie, was selected as an
astronaut in 1996 and has been assigned various technical duties
including support to the extravehicular activity (space walk)
function in the Astronaut Office.

All members of the Expedition Four crew have previously flown in
space. Onufrienko served as commander on Mir-21 in 1996. Walz
flew on STS-51 in 1993, STS-65 in 1994 and STS-79 in 1996.
Bursch flew aboard STS-51 in 1993, STS-68 in 1994, and STS-77 in
1996.

A note from Fraser,

Since it's the 15th anniversary of the Challenger disaster, it's
put me in a bit of a historical mood. Two stories today of a
historical slant, and a couple more in the next couple of days.

When the Challenger exploded, I was only 14 years old, and already
an avid space freak. This was the first launch of the shuttle that
I didn't catch live with my Dad. Later on at school my science
teacher announced to the class what had happened. I couldn't
believe it, and went to the teacher's lounge to watch their
television. By not watching it that morning, I was sure I'd done
something to jinx the launch - a subsequent NASA investigation
ruled out my influence on the launch. :-)

Of course, it made the top story of the Vancouver newspaper that
afternoon, so as I went on my paper route, I got to stare at the
photos of the explosion about 100 times. Now, whenever I see images
of explosion, my mind always wraps a Welcome mat around the image.

Of all the things I remember in my life, it's one of my most vivid
memories.

PROGRESS DOCKS WITH MIR, BRINGING FUEL AND CERTAIN DOOM
-------------------------
A Russian Progress cargo ship docked with the Mir space station on
Saturday, beginning the countdown to the station's crash in early
March. Although cosmonauts were ready to launch in case something
went wrong with the automated docking system, everything went off
without a hitch. On March 6th, ground controllers will fire the
Progress' thrusters and drop the station out of orbit - most of it
will burn up, but large pieces will plunge into the Pacific Ocean
off the coast of Australia.

LOOKING BACK AT THE CHALLENGER TRAGEDY

history of spaceflight - the explosion of the space shuttle
Challenger, which killed 7 astronauts. NASA examiners spent

For subscribers who may not be aware of its existence, can I
please take a moment to mention the 'UFO Skeptics' mailing list.

The list archives are public and discussions feature ongoing
research into 'classic' UFO cases, with significant, new
developments being revealed.

The background to 'UFO Skeptics' can perhaps be best explained if
I append a copy of the 'news release' recently issued:

_'UFO Skeptics' Have a Public Voice_

During March, 1999, Scottish 'UFO' researcher James Easton set up
an Internet based discussion forum, the 'UFO Research List',
providing a means which would bring together individuals and
organisations who shared the same objective - investigating 'UFO'
related evidence which could be shown to have a scientific
foundation.

Between then and December 2000, the forum attracted over one
hundred subscribers and witnessed more than 2800 individual
posting contributions, many of which were landmark in helping to
explain 'UFO' sightings.

On 28 December, 2000, Easton notified subscribers that due to the
increasing absurdity of 'UFO' related claims and the fanatical,
almost religious beliefs, of many individuals and 'UFO'
organisations, it was deemed necessary to be clearly
disassociated from such prevalent inanity.

The 'UFO Research List' was to be disbanded and in its place
would be the 'UFO Skeptics' mailing list, commencing on 1
January, 2001.

Applications were invited from those who advocated a critical,
scientific appraisal of all purported 'UFO' related evidence and
Easton outlined a goal that, in the long-term, this new forum
could attract 50 or more subscribers.

Astonishingly, within the first weeks of its operation, the UFO
Skeptics mailing list already has in excess of 80 members and the
number is steadily rising.

"In addition to many well-known, analytical, 'UFO' researchers
from the skeptical community who have vast experience of case
material, it's especially pleasing that the membership includes
subscribers with world renowned expertise in astronomy, space
science, military aviation and related topics", states Easton.

Unlike its predecessor, the new discussion list is now available
to the public and can be found on the Internet at URL:

Easton notes, "Being a publicly accessible web site, this will
allow widespread access to high-quality discussions and
considerable factual information".

considerable material revealing the true story behind Britain's
most famous 'UFO' case - the RAF Bentwaters/Rendlesham Forest
incidents.

In August 2000, Easton's sensational, previously unconsidered,
explanation for Kenneth Arnold's pivotal 1947 sighting - which
gave the world 'flying saucers' - featured as the front cover and
centrepiece article in 'Fortean Times' magazine.

DELTA ROCKET LAUNCHES GPS SATELLITE

A Boeing Delta 2 rocket lifted off from Cape Canaveral this morning
at 0755 GMT (2:55am EST) carrying a NAVSTAR Global Positioning
System 2R-7 satellite. 25 minutes after liftoff the upper-stage
rocket placed the satellite into formation with 27 existing GPS
satellites 17,700 kilometres above the Earth. It will take about
two weeks for the satellite's internal propulsion system to
completely stabilize its orbit.

DISCARDED CARGO SHIP PURPOSEFULLY CRASHED INTO THE PACIFIC
-------------------------
Before the new Progress M1-5 cargo ship carrying fuel docked with
the Mir space station on Saturday, Russian controllers undocked the
previous Progress M43 to make room. This discarded Progress M43 was
then used in a fiery dress rehearsal Monday as it was crashed into
the Pacific Ocean on the same trajectory Mir will take when it's
deorbited on March 6th. As the operation went smoothly, the Russian
Space Agency is using this as further proof that they have the
deorbit of Mir under control.

Siberia, Russian pilots refused to take off because of a hovering UFO, while
UFOs were spotted in North Carolina, Illinois, Texas, Malaysia, the Isle of
Man, UK, and Chile. Sky booms in North Carolina and Ohio,

RED DWARFS MAY HARBOR ALIEN LIFE

NEW SCIENTIST reports, IF YOU WANT to find extraterrestrial intelligence,
you're going to have to look in the right place.  In our Galaxy alone there
are more than 100 billion stars, so you might expect to find a profusion of
alien abodes.  But which suns do you point your telescope at? Bright, yellow
stars like our own Sun have always seemed the obvious place to start.  In the
past few years, though, researchers have begun to wonder if they've been
neglecting a whole class of likely targets: red dwarfs.  Smaller, cooler and
fainter than the Sun, red dwarfs give out just a feeble red glow.  More than
a dozen of these puny stars reside within as many light years of Earth, yet
they're so faint that not a single one is visible to the unaided eye.  It was
always thought that any planet orbiting a red dwarf would be an extremely
unlikely place to find life.  But it now looks as though these dim red suns
could harbor most of the Galaxy's life-bearing worlds.  This is great news
for anyone hoping to find hospitable planets outside the Solar System. While
stars like the Sun are relatively rare, four out of five stars in our Galaxy
are red dwarfs.  "We all want to find habitable planets out there," says
Laurance Doyle, an astronomer at the SETI Institute in Mountain View,
California. "The fact that we can now rule in 80 per cent of the stars is a

Editor's Note: If those reports of aliens wearing dark colored inserts over
their eyes are true, an alien explorer from a Red Dwarf would need to shield
his eyes from our bright sun.  This might also explain the reports of alien
craft entering and leaving the water for darkness.

NORTH CAROLINA AND OHIO JOLTED BY MYSTERIOUS BOOMS

WILMINGTON -- Gerry @ Far Shores reports mysterious booming noises that have
shaken the Cape Fear coast from time to time returned last week, prompting
calls to meteorologists and earthquake specialists from worried residents.
The National Earthquake Information Center in Boulder, Colo., detected no
major earth movement in the area.  Modern theories include that the booms are
caused by jets breaking the sound barrier, the shifting of the continental
shelf, or a volume of air suddenly becoming hotter than the air surrounding
it and exploding like a balloon.

ASHTABULA, Ohio.  Sky booms accompanied by quivering of the ground was
reported Friday, January 19, 2001, at 9:13 PM in this community on the shore
of Lake Erie.  The booms sounded similar to explosions but no source was
found.  Police and fire dispatchers fielded several calls from folks in
Saybrook and Ashtabula Townships and in Ashtabula who felt the unexplainable
tremor.  'The seismographic site did report some kind of blip,' Ed Semppi,
director of the Ashtabula County Emergency Management Agency said, 'But
there's no reason as to what happened yet.'  Officials from the Ohio
Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Geologic Survey in Columbus had noticed
a tremor-like vibration at their Jefferson-based seismographic site."

Editor's Note:  These loud booms often signal UFO activity in an area.  They
are often reported near bodies of water where UFOs are reported entering and
leaving.  We will continue top watch these areas for continued sightings.

SOUTH CAROLINA CIGAR SHAPED UFO

ANDERSON -- On January 4, 2001, the witness observed a white large object
without wings moving very slowly toward the northwest or about 340 degrees.
The object was white, not a light, nor silver, nor reflecting sunlight.  It
stopped in it's slow movement for about ten seconds or more when it was about
ten degrees off my 12 O'clock position.  The sky was clear with only some
cirrus clouds in the West.  I watched the object then went for my wife to
verify what I was seeing.  She came out and watched it for a few minutes.  I
went back inside for my binoculars but had misplaced them, this taking about
five minutes.  When I went back outside the object was still in view and
moving very slowly.  Eventually it went behind the view to the cirrus clouds..
  As a pilot I am familiar with judging altitude, etc., and this was above
30,000 feet.  As mentioned before, it was white in color not reflecting the
sun. The object was over an inch as measured with my hand in front of my
eyes.  This was very unusual to me as it was moving toward the jet stream for
today.  I did not say to my wife what I thought it was, nor color, etc., but
I did ask her to explain what she saw.  She said the same thing I was
thinking, color, shape etc.  The shape as we could make it out was long with
no wings.  It certainly was NOT a weather balloon.  It was in our view at
least twelve to twenty minutes from the 11 o'clock position that I first
observed it until it was about 3 o'clock in the NW sky.  My location is: Lat..

GEORGIA ABDUCTIONS MAY NOT BE ET

MUFONGA State Director Tom Sheets says, I feel that some further discussion
is in order regarding the non-extraterrestrial theory(s) and the UFO
phenomena.  I mentioned that my personal views now lean more toward the
non-ET theory of UFOs and the several probably related areas, abduction,
entities, et al. I pursued an intense study of the phenom due to a personal
experience.  During my career as police chief, I continued this and was
fortunate enough to find a few peers doing the same.  Eventually my becoming
sort of a 'clearing house' in the South Atlanta Metro area led to various
citizens bringing their experiences to me for cursory investigation, or
perhaps it just allowed them to vent to someone in authority who would listen
and understand.  While most of the UFO literature available to me was pretty
set on the theory that UFOs were interplanetary craft, upon reading Vallee
and Dr. Jung, a big question mark was thrown into the other sources I was
studying.  Retirement gave me the opportunity to join MUFON with the proper
time to devote to this endeavor.  As I became embroiled in all of that from
1996 onward, these questions continued to pop up, constantly screaming that
the UFO phenom WAS NOT WHAT IT SEEMED.  I met the then MUFON State Director
and founding ISUR Board member John Thompson in 1996, and was indeed
fortunate that he became my mentor.  Discussions with John further deepened
the mystery.  John always said that he just followed where the UFO evidence
took him.  John Thompson was right!  THE PHENOMENA WAS DEFINITELY NOT WHAT IT
SEEMED TO BE!  It's almost like some of the 'other' well known big name UFO
investigators and researchers have brainwashed (exploited?) the  public into
the ET hypothesis above all others, thereby more or less closing the minds of
smart and clever folks like you that otherwise could help find the solution
we've been seeking.

Last week John Thompson reviewed the book 'Grand Illusions' written by Dr.
Gregory Little in  Filer's Files #3 .  Please go to George Filer's website (
<A HREF="www.filersfiles.com">www.filersfiles.com</A> ) and read Dr. Little's
theory on the origin of UFOs and related events that closely parallel my own,
and those of John Thompson.  Having read Vallee and Jung through the 70's and
80's, and Keel in the 90's, then Dr. Little in the past few months, plus my
own findings from case investigation, I've been led to lean further away from
the theories of an extraterrestrial origin for UFOs.  Yes, UFOs are a
reality, yes some abductions experiencers are reporting truthfully, yes some
entity manifestations are for real.  I'm just leaning further and further
away from the theories that scream that they're ALL ET in origin.  In fact,
if they were ALL just ET paying good old earth a visit, it would be much
simpler for us to comprehend (and ascertain same).  The phenom as we know it
is so bizarre, so variable,  so outright weird, only an explanation like that
proposed by Dr. Little,  et al really makes sense in my opinion.  I'm not
totally discarding the possibility of extraterrestrial life and visitation --
only a fool would do so -- because those boogers are definitely out there.  I
just don't feel they are behind ALL of this high strangeness Ufologists have

ILLINOIS SIGHTING REPORTS

ROCKFORD -- WREX Channel 13 Television and other news media reported that
they had received some 600 reports of UFOs over this city in Northern
Illinois around 9:00 PM on January 11, 2001.  As many as twelve lights or
UFOs were reported conducting maneuvers over the city.  Some reports of
computer and electrical shutdowns coincided with the reports.  Later that
night on all three of the news stations in Rockford reported the sightings.
Some people reported seeing six lights while others reported seeing a dozen
yellow orange lights hovering in the sky.  The light sightings were made from
8:50 to 9:00 PM.  Sightings have been fairly regular in recent months over
the city.

MISSOURI CHEMTRAILS

KANSAS CITY -- Richard Buchli D.V.M., Ph.D., "We started with a clear sky
this morning.  Midmorning I counted 8 planes laying down tracks east to west..
  As these tracks expanded to a mile or more in width, they joined.  I quit
watching shortly after noon.  Now at 4:00 PM we are so completely overcast
that I can look directly at the sun and see a spot of light.  At the same
time as the chemtrails were being laid down, I spotted several normal
CONTRAILS which evaporated a short distance behind the planes.  The normal
contrails were at approximately the same height as the Chemtrails.  If any of

TEXAS CIGAR SHAPED UFO

HOUSTON -- Cliff Rowe reports that on January 5, 2001, I was driving my car
at 5:40 PM to pick up my granddaughter at the library as the sun was just
setting below the horizon.  The sky was still blue with a high cloud or two
reflecting orange color on the clouds.  I observed a bright (cloud like)
oblong unidentified object moving from east to west.  At first I thought it
was a meteorite with a tail on it moving through the atmosphere.  I pulled my
car into a parking lot to watch it for about ten minutes or so.  The object
was moving about the speed of an airplane at 30,000 feet altitude.  As I
watched it, there were airplanes moving around with landing lights on and I
compared the object to the airplanes.  The airplanes looked dark even with
their landing lights on against the blue sky.  I saw no wings on the object.
The object was about the size of my small fingernail at arm's length.  I
could also describe it as a moving small bright white cloud.  The object was
flying much higher than the airplanes and was totally covered with a bright
white light, nothing like the airplanes I observed.  The object moved
completely across the sky in about 7 or 8 minutes, from over Baytown to
Houston, and then seemed to slow down or stop and then start moving again.
The object flying as high as it was seemed twice as large compared to the
airplanes flying at a lower altitude.  It also seemed to me that the sun
might have been reflecting on the object because the object maintained it's
brightness with a slight orange color the entire time I observed it. The
object did not leave any vapor trail like a high flying plane might do.  The
object flew into a small orange cloud and emerged a minute later and then
seemed to change direction to the south. ' I live 30 miles east of Houston
and this object would have been over Houston the last time I observed it.
The object stood out because of it's brightness.  I do not believe it was an
airplane after comparing the planes to it.  It looked entirely different from

TEXAS NOCTURNAL VISITATION

KINGSVILLE - I experienced something very very strange sometime before 4:00
AM on December 31, 2000.  Frankly, I have the feeling I was visited.  For the
past five years, I have dreamed that my two story house is tilting and
crashing into the street.  This morning, I awoke and suddenly heard a low
frequency buzz or vibration.  I'm not sure what it was, but I sensed my house
was tilting again to the west.  I tried to brace myself because I though I
was in another earthquake like when I lived in Japan.  I expected to hear
furniture hitting the west wall.  I mean the angle was about 45 degrees now.
But, I neither heard furniture slamming into anything and to my amazement, my
ceiling fan was turning as normal and not at an angle.  That clued me into
something weird.  While I was trying to brace myself, I realized I was fully
immobilized, could not move any limb or my head.  The only thing that would
move were my eyes and they were open.  At this time, I looked to my right
toward my skylight and saw a beam of blue light that I sensed was searching
and it found me.  To my left (west side) I also saw light coming from the
window.  I realized something was not right, I could not move.  I now felt
semi unconscious yet fully awake and I was being examined in bed.  I looked
around and could only make out a small dark figure to my left, above my head
and to my right.  To my astonishment, directly in front of me about ten feet
away, I saw what appeared to be a holographic figure, or perhaps that was the
beam of light that found me.  I asked these things what they wanted, but got
no response and sensed they were intent on examining me.  I definitely
experienced fear! But there was nothing I could do.  Then suddenly it
stopped, and they left at least it felt that way, and I look quickly at the
clock and it was 0402 hours.  The blue light then gradually went away (maybe
30 seconds after the events stopped) from both my sky light and window.  I
have been awake since.

ISLE OFMAN -- On January 19, 1001, a large object was seen above Snaefell
Mountain, onthe north side of the Isle of Man in the Irish Sea west of Wales
at 4:20PM.  "A Flying Triangle shaped UFOwas observed hovering near a
BBC radio mast at the summit" ofSnaefell. "The police have
searchedbut they have no clues to the mystery centered on the summit of
SnaefellMountain."  "A full searchincluding the Isle of Man
Coastguard, Fire services, Civil Defense andConstabulary and the Royal Air
Force has failed to find any trace of evidencefollowing reports of an
aircraft at the top of the mountain.  The police received reports yesterday

that it appeared to strike the largecommunications mast on the summit.
Animmediate search of the area, including a helicopter from RAF Valley,
"an air base in Anglesey, Wales, UK, "failed to find any trace of an
accidentbut continued with the search until 11:10 p.m." The
police still have no clue as to what it was that hadbeen reported to hit the
mast and are appealing to anybody who may have beenaround Snaefell at 4:20
PM, who may have seen anything unusual on the northernside of the island.&

RUSSIAN AIRPORT SHUT DOWN BY UFO

SIBERIA-- The Interfax News Agency reported on January 27, 2001, that pilots
of planestrying to land and about to take off from the Barnaul airport
reported seeing aUFO.  The lighted object stayed for anhour-and-a-half before
disappearing as suddenly as it had arrived.  Agence France Presse also
reported that anairport in southern Siberia was shut down for an hour and a
half on Friday whenan unidentified flying object (UFO) was detected hovering
above itsrunway.  Local aviation company directorIvan Komarov stated, &
quot;The crew of an Il-76, a four engine jet cargoaircraft refused to take
off, when they saw a luminescent object hovering abovethe runway of the
Siberia's Barnaul airport" The crew of another cargoplane, refusing to
use the runway for the same reason, landed their jet atanother airport,
Komarov said. The UFO took off and vanished from the airport90 minutes later,

MALAYSIA FORMATION OF UFOs SEEN

KUALALUMPUR -- Gerry @ Far Shores writes, on January 21, 2001, eight
unidentifiedflying objects were spotted in USJ near here and in Gopeng Perak.
A woman, who identified herself as Dahlia,called the New Straits Times at
10:40 PM to say she saw six UFOs -- orange incolor -- in the sky over Gopeng.
"I am seeing them now, so are a lot of other people.  It's causing a
stir.  Please check with the Ipoh airport and tellme what they are," she
said.  Herhusband, Ismail Bidin, who is the honorary secretary of an
orphanage in SungaiItek, Gopeng, said he was among the first to see the UFOs.
  "All the 38 orphans there saw theobjects, so did their religious
teachers and villagers from neighboring KampungPintu Padang."  He said
the UFOsappeared to be in formation, and then formed a straight line.  The
objects were seen for about 10 minutesbefore they disappeared.  A policeman
atthe Gopeng police station, when contacted about 20 minutes later, said he
didnot receive any information about the sightings. This morning, a housewife
called the NSB office here to say sheand her son saw two UFOs -- red in color

ANCIENT INDIA HAD VIMANA SPACECRAFT TECHNOLOGY

TIRUPATI--The Hindu National Press writes that, `India once had a treasure
trove ofhi-tech warfare technology that even the `mighty West' does not
possess.  Ancient scriptures reveal, Brahmastra andVimanas used in the
pre-Mahabharata period are nothing but the earlier versionsof today's nuclear
weapons and spacecraft.' It is this feeling that one would get after
listening to a lecture on`High Technology in Ancient Sanskrit Literature' by
Mr. C. S. R. Prabhu, seniorscientist, NIC, Hyderabad, at the three-day
Indo-Nepal SanskritConference.  Mr. Prabhu, quotingextensively from ancient
texts, stressed that the pre-Mahabharata period was anage of high technology.
  He quoted fromthe texts of a great scholar, Subbaraya Sastry, who, in a
state of yogictrance, is said to have orally dictated the spacecraft
technology in a periodsomewhere between 1875 and 1919.  Thetext, a copy of
which is still in Nepal's Royal Library, contained technical detailson
assembling, fabricating and erecting a spacecraft.  The technical information
given in Sastry's texts was as minute,precise and clear, as if it were a
`Make your own spacecraft' or a `Spacecrafttechnology in 30 days' except for
the Sanskrit language used, which wasobsolete, Mr. Prabhu said.

Wallpaintings in some forts in Rajasthan depict the use of rockets in
Mughalwarfare.  The spacecraft could becomeinvisible using the lead alloy
Thamogarbha loha.  The craft would absorb light around it in a photo
chemicalreaction that would make it disappear. On testing the Krishna seesa
metal mentioned in the formula in thelaboratory of Birla Institute of
Science, Mr. Prabhu found the metal absorbing78 per cent of laser light,
which means, any other light could be easilyabsorbed, giving ample proof that
there existed a technology to make thingsinvisible.  Also the use of an alloy
ofcopper, zinc and lead made the spacecraft's body resist corrosion by 1000
timesover that of the current levels.  Thecombination of these metals is
considered according to modern metallurgy.  Using Ararakamra material for the
axle andwheels had made it possible for taking `U' turns and serpentine
movements.  As the spacecraft had to be capable ofresisting high temperature,
on reentering our atmosphere from the outer space,its body was made with a
metal called `Raja Loha'.  Its special feature was that apart from resisting
heat, itconverted light from lightning into energy. The craft used a kind of
`nuclear power' that was used in thosedays.  `The solar power, when
coupledwith gamma rays produced nuclear energy that had the power to
propel a rocket',Mr. Prabhu observed.
Mr.Prabhu said he had submitted the model and some more information on the
`supermetal' to the Indian Metal Society Conference and further claimed that
theadvisor to the government on scientific affairs Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam
toohad asked him to bring the design of the plane.  He said he had
proposed a project called `Bharadwaja Institute ofVedic Science and
Technology', the objective of which was to derive, decipherand reproduce
advanced methodologies and processes from Vedic and post-VedicSanskrit texts,

I am getting the impression that there may be copycat greys or those
not related genetically to the original Greys. The copycat greys are
defined as genetic creations that use the form and shape of the real
greys. What purpose can it serve. It is said to be mostly a creation
by the shadow government at present as well as possibly in
Atlantis where techno-occult sorcerers creates Grey like creatures to
house their summoned spirits (as mentioned in the Sumerian tablets and
in Secret Doctrine by Blavatsky). But what inspire or motivate them to
use the shape of the Grey in the first place. In the government case,
it could be used as decoys. In the Atlantis case. Could it be copied
from original greys that settled or came to Earth ages ago?? Speaking
of these original greys.. which has many sub species. Is it possible
that sometime in the distant past in another planet. They suffered
nuclear holocausts and they were the survivors (as many abductees are
claiming). Or better yet. If a similar nuclear holocaust befall
humanity at present. Could we become greys like creatures in the
future. This makes me wonder if the Real Greys (if they are real
victims as they claimed) were from victims of nuclear holocaust that
befell earth in the distant past (or even on Mars). The bottom line of
it all is. Can Human-like creatures devolve into Greys if nuclear

the tail-end of this news report:

* Today (1/30/01), a huge--and 'shinny'--UFO hovered over an unnamed
airport near--I think--Denver, Colorado--for 90 minutes!!! It was seen
by hundreds of people. One cargo plane REFUSED to take off from this
airport--while another 'cargo' plane REFUSED to land--due to this HUGE
UFO just 'hovering' over the airport. There were reports that NO
airplanes would land, or take off from the run-ways--until--90 minutes
later: the UFO just-------vanished!

Now, this 'news report' came from "The Liberty Network News," which is
a BIG DEAL in the USA--as they promote the quest for TRUTH in
Broadcasting--which I admire--having been formerly in TV-news and
discourged by the lack thereof. They (Liberty Works)aren't going to
report just any ole UFO story. Nope.

Please understand that this was not a ver batum accounting--these are
just the words I recalled hearing (being ever mindful of UFO
reports)upon returning to the study--and since it was the last 'news
break' of the radio show: I was unable to take notes--should the story
  be repeated. I will write to Dr. Bob--since he is a personal
friend--for more details--but would ask all of you in the UK to keep
your ears open across the Pond for this report--as it WAS NOT REPORTED

** Now--for the 'grovy' part: 'Cargo' airplanes were repeated in that
report several times. Near Denver--there is an Air Force airport

this 'event' had happened at the Denver airport (commercial flights);
I'd venture to say that we would have heard more about it.

COMET COLLISIONS: ONLY THE STRONG SURVIVED?

      Recurring collisions between comets during the solar
system's formation may have ground smaller comets to bits,
leaving only big comets larger than 20 kilometers (12 miles)
to survive, according to a new model developed by researchers
at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, Calif., and the
Southwest Research Institute, Boulder, Colo.

      The finding, by Dr. Paul Weissman of JPL and Dr. Alan
Stern of Southwest Research Institute, published in the
February 1 issue of the journal Nature, demonstrates that
previous models may have significantly overestimated the mass
of the Oort cloud --  a region far beyond the planets
populated by comets flung outward in the solar system's youth.

      "We're introducing a new wrinkle in the process of how
the Oort cloud formed," said Weissman.  One result of the new
finding, he said, is that "the cloud may be 10 times less
massive than previously thought."

      By studying comets of different sizes, the scientists
predicted how the comets would collide with each other, and
how the collisions would erode the comet's cores, dirty
snowballs of dust and ice.  Their model showed that comets
with nucleus diameters smaller than 20 kilometers (12 miles)
would have been destroyed in the early solar system's
demolition derby.  Previous Oort cloud formation models
neglected the effects of these collisions.

      Another apparent implication of this violent collisional
environment is that the comets in the Oort cloud could be
smaller than previously thought, said the scientists.  If
comets were so eroded that they would never have left the
region of the giant planets, then few of them would have
survived to be ejected to the Oort cloud.  Taking into account
their new findings, Weissman estimates that typical comets in
the Oort cloud may be about half as large across as compared
with current best estimates.

  Broadcasting--which I admire--having been formerly in TV-news and
  discourged by the lack thereof. They (Liberty Works)aren't going to
  report just any ole UFO story. Nope.

  Please understand that this was not a ver batum accounting--these are
  just the words I recalled hearing (being ever mindful of UFO
  reports)upon returning to the study--and since it was the last 'news
  break' of the radio show: I was unable to take notes--should the story
   be repeated. I will write to Dr. Bob--since he is a personal
  friend--for more details--but would ask all of you in the UK to keep
  your ears open across the Pond for this report--as it WAS NOT REPORTED
  by the major TV news this evening--at all.
