LONDON BLOGMEET TONIGHT
*****************************************************************

Came around quick, didn't it? If you're in or within reach of the
capital, weblog authors are meeting tonight (Friday 7 February 2003)
from 7pm onwards. The meet is at The Green Man, 383 Euston Road, London
NW1 3AU and all are welcome.

Directions: turn right out of Great Portland Street tube station and
there it is in front of you. It's also walkable from Warren Street tube.
Here's a map: http://streetmap.co.uk/streetmap.dll?G2M?X=528915&Y=182163

Those who are new to this kind of thing may be concerned about how to
recognise other bloggers. I would have thought that the wild twitching
would have given us away easily. However, if you're not sure who you're
meeting, Meg has kindly put together a picture post here:
http://notsosoft.com/files/london_february_blogmeet.php . Another source
of mugshots is growing - see below for the details. You could always
just wear a sticker that reads "n00b!" and wait for us to find you - we
will keep our eyes open.

WEBLOGGING - THE BIG ISSUES
*****************************************************************

Tom of http://plasticbag.org/ has released some interesting ideas for
discussion on UKB Discuss. These include the relationship of weblogging
to journalism, the future of weblogging, whether RSS is really any good,
and the issues surrounding the balance between weblogging and
professional work.

These and similar topics are exactly what UKB Discuss is about: the
subject of weblogging as a whole, rather than the ins and outs of any
particular site or person.

*****************************************************************
THE SIGNIFICANCE OF NORFOLK
*****************************************************************

It turns out that a surprising number of UKB Social members have Anglian
origins, Norfolk in particular. Is there any significance to this? Does
coming from Norfolk make you a better blogger? We will endeavour to find
out...

*****************************************************************
UKB MEMBERS GALLERY
*****************************************************************

I've revamped the UKB web presence slightly, and it now includes a page
of mugshots sent in by members: http://weblogs.co.uk/ukb/gallery/ .

To appear, please mail me (off-list). I'll need your name, approximate
geographical location (like the town where you live), URL of your site,
and a mugshot no less than 200 by 200 pixels.
