Meeting Update
Boulder, Colorado
October, 2003
(Special Session on Algebras, Lattices, Varieties. For
further information, see the links at the end of this
message.)
The persons presenting papers are reminded that the AMS deadline
for receipt of abstracts is August 12. Your name will not appear
in the program if you fail to submit by then.
(All speakers who have not yet sent in abstracts have
been notified by the organizers. Thus, if you are a
speaker who did not receive a notice, it means that
your abstract has been received.)
Our roster of speakers is almost full, but we might have room
for two or three more. If you have any regrets about not signing
up to speak in the Special Session, and would like to be considered
now, please let Walter know at once, and be ready with an abstract.
The program will be finalized within two weeks, probably sooner.
If you are a speaker at the Special Session, and if you have
special scheduling needs (e.g. times when you would not be free
to speak), please let Walter know at once. The printed schedule
is to be worked out in the next two weeks. (Obviously we can
rearrange things on the spot in October, but it is nicer to have
it well written in the first place.)
All interested mathematicians are invited to attend, whether
speaking or not.
The speaker list will be announced quite soon.
It is important to seek Boulder accommodations quite soon. Be
aware that there are sixteen Special Sessions at this meeting,
and moreover that the Sustainable Resources Conference will be
in Boulder at the same time -- see
http://www.sustainableresources.org
The AMS link (below) may be consulted for a list of hotel
possibilities. Notice that the AMS compilation of hotels
lists three possibilities where special rates have a deadline
(Aug 15 or Sep 1). For a more comprehensive list, see a list
that was compiled for the Mycielski conference last year.
(But note that price info there may be out of date, and that
the Boulder Victoria has since folded):
