Hi everyone on the univalg list,

I hope this list is proving useful to everyone. We don't have too
much traffic, but there are occasional announcements, such as the
one from Walter Taylor about the current status of meeting plans
for Boulder in October, that seem useful to me.

If you have friends or colleagues who might like to be on this list,
please let them know about it. Also, and this is the point of this
message, it is best if they either email me directly, or, if they
join through the yahoo email address which I also encourage, expect
to receive a post from me asking them to tell me a little about
themselves. The reason for this is that apparently there are spammers
out there who attempt to get onto the list using automated methods,
either to spam the list or to access information about members of the
group. I screen people carefully so that this will not be
possible.
