AIMS: The aim of the annual Victorian Algebra Conferences is to improve
communication among algebraists in Australia (and beyond!) in general and
in Victoria in particular and to stimulate research.
RESEARCH STUDENTS ARE PARTICULARLY WELCOME TO ATTEND AND PARTICIPATE. We
are keen to continue the Victorian Algebra Conference's strong tradition of
talks given by graduate students. A reimbursement of some travel expenses
is available to unemployed Australian mathematicians and students at
Australian universities outside of metropolitan Melbourne.
WORKSHOP ON UNIVERSAL ALGEBRAIC METHODS IN SEMIGROUP THEORY AND ALGEBRAIC
LOGIC: The VAC has this year been extended to 3 days to incorporate some
special sessions, including three introductory presentations by
distinguished guest Professor George McNulty (University of South Carolina).
