Hi everyone,

I resolved for 2004 to find out how people feel about having more
computer scientists on the list. Note that there already are some;
they are very welcome as far as I am concerned. Some arguments in
favor of having more computer scientists are:

Some of them may have some interesting problems for us, especially,
I think, if we are willing to look at multi-sorted algebras

Having more members should increase the number of messages on the
list, which is (arguably) desirable

We could all get more of a feel for how to tap into the Computer
Science gravy train

Promoting the list to computer scientists might reach some
researchers interested in Universal Algebra and Lattice Theory
that have not been reached up until now.

Some arguments against promoting the list to computer scientists are:

I don't have too good of an idea how to so promote it

The list has already been promoted to George Gratzer's list of
researchers in UA and LT that he maintains at the AU web site,
so the computer scientists doing UA and LT may already have
been invited.

I would like to see how people feel about this before doing anything.
You should have received a message already about the poll and how
to participate. Lets all vote and have fun with it!

Since I'm one of the current computer science subscribers (though my PhD was in algebra), I thought I ought to comment. I haven't voted - my mastery of...
