The Central Virginia Cryptozoology Club is for serious cryptozoology enthusiasts and those that would like to learn more about the study of hidden animals.
Cryptozoology is the study of and search for animals which fall outside of contemporary zoological study. Primarily, it is the search for living animals believed to be extinct and/or the search for animals that fall outside of the zoological records due to incomplete evidence, but for which circumstantial evidence exists such as myths, legends, or sightings.
Bigfoot, Sea Serpents, the eastern mountain lion, Chessie, Devil Monkeys, and many other cryptids make this list.
I would like this club to be participatory and would like to include: Education (Lectures/Seminars/Discussions); Media (TV/Movie Nights); Events (Conferences/Expos/Tours/Festivals); Expeditions (Field Research/Interviews/Evidence Collection); and a Book Group (Read & Discuss current and classic books on the topic).
