maybe the vrc should be the first to start having virtual meetings, with webcams and video feeds, everyone could participate from home.
Realtime texting can be rather productive too, its nice to be able to step away from a conversation, come back and not miss anything, also nice to not have to wait for someone to finish speaking before you can say what your thinking.
esp if your like me and have a memory like..... what was I talking about?
