first: i've not used 0.3.6 for a long time!
the config file has to stay in the same directory as the cgi
(vanilla.r) - the space-accessor is a path relative to the
cgi-location.
the space-directory must be read/writable for the user under which the
web-server (httpd) runs.
i think the resource-url is not used anywhere, but nevertheless you
should set it to some valid http-path ("/home/mas/vanilla/" for
example).
