afair, 0.3 metadata doesn't contain much useful information besides a
last-store timestamp and the number of displays, so if this info isn't too
important for you, leave the metadata behind ;-)

hmmmmm - one problem that comes to my mind: backlinks are generated when a
snip is stored in 0.5, so you'll have to store every important snip at least
once to have all backlinks generated correctly.
