Though there are already forums devoted to the conversion of modern home heating oil furnaces to vegoil from Home Heating Oil (altfuelfurnace) no forum currently exists devoted to simple vegoil fueled heating devices. This forum was created in the hope that with the opportunity such a meeting place presents a safe alternative heat source will evolve.
CAUTION! Working with or around burning and hot oil/grease can be dangerous, especially when proper safety precautions are not taken. Water should never be used to put out an oil or grease fire. Because of the variations in materials and workmanship there are no guarantees on the information in/on this web site. No group member assumes responsibility for any injury, loss, or damage that may result from following the instructions, advice or plans on this web site. There are always dangers in experimenting with fire which have been pointed out whenever possible but it is not the purpose of this web site, nor is it possible to mention all known or unknown dangers. None of the designs or devices discussed here have been tested or UL approved. They must all be considered experimental and dangerous until proven otherwise. If you choose to try using these designs PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL! If you are in doubt as to the safety of any heating device PLEASE don't use it. Test new ideas outside and away from buildings, dry grass, pine trees and other flammable objects. The life you save may be that of someone you love. When in doubt about the complete safety of any device described or discussed here please ask an expert like your local fire chief for their opinion. No one here is an expert. Use common courtesy when posting. Snip long posts you are responding to save bandwidth. Try to stay on topic as much as possible. Flaming and spamming are about all I tend to step in to prevent.
