Re: [videoblogging] Comment Spam

Comment spam is usually done by an automated spider or robot. I use MT-Blacklist
for my MovableType blog (http://www.jayallen.org/projects/mt-blacklist/). It
doesn't stop the spam, but it helps you remove multiple instances of comment
spam at once. But, I find myself having to manage the comment spam more often,
especially as the number of entries on my blog increases.

There is another plugin for MT that closes comments on entries after a certain
period of time (http://mt-plugins.org/archives/entry/closecomments.php), so for
instance, comments would not be enabled on posts more than 2 weeks old. This
might be a decent solution for some people. Check the MT plugin directory for
more info: http://mt-plugins.org

Ive only ever gotten one spam comment.
what does this mean?
that a spammer doesnt think my site is good enough?
my site is plenty good for tellimg people about gambling and porn.

does someone have to actually comment by hand...or are they done by spam
robots?
