Webby speech suggestions --

"Holy crap! Thank you."

"Haikus start like this right?"

"I'd like to thank the..."

"That's done, back to work."

Also a big fan of the "Please Keep Uploading" suggestion.

how, bout.... "discover the world"
or "No more barriers"
or maybe "We the people, thank you"
or "It's about all of us"
or "once upon a time..."
or "The times are a changing"
or "The future is now"
and lastly maybe just one word....."Empowerment"

And if none of those work, how bout "Watch the Batman Geek" (can't
blame me for trying...)

I did a Rhoades Car review on Revver.com at:

http://one.revver.com/watch/267569

At the same time I posted the same video to YouTube. Recently I was looking at
my videos in
YouTube and noticed that 632 people had viewed it.

I checked rhoadescar.com and there was my YouTube video review. My mistake was
to list
the video on more that one site. If I had only posed it on Revver, I would have
forced folks to
click there to see the review.

Is there any action I can take against Rhoades Car? They never asked my
permission to put
the review on their web site.

The lens I use is a .45 and it's pretty good because I don't get a
lot of vignetting around the edges which can be a problem with some
of the cheaper lenses. Of course it probably helps that I got a lens
that was too big for the camera and use a step ring to attach it. My
camera has a 43mm threaded lens and thats an odd size so there
aren't too many options for lenses. So I got a 52mm and use a 52 to
43 step ring (cost about $8 or so) to connect it to the camera.
Works great.

A wide angle lens is definately one of my must have accesories ...
That and a monopod.

One other advantage to shooting with a wide angle lens besides
making it possible to shoot in smaller spaces is that it makes hand
held shooting seem smoother because the camera movements aren't
quite as pronounced as when you are shooting through a telephoto
lens.

I don't understand. You seem to like their product. You made a review
video of it. You posted it on a site that rather explicitly has a
"share this/put this in your blog" feature.

What did you expect? You did a bunch of grassroots free promotion for
them, and now you want to take action *against* them because they
featured your promotion on their site?

I am late weighing in on this. Sure humor is cool. Keep uploading is
clever but...

are you going for sh*ts and giggles or do you want to have a powerful
message or impact that fits the audience and times?

If it is not too late I submit this for your consideration...

.... the preamble to the Constitution would be the most powerful
statement to sum up not only vlogging but to comment on first
amendment rights, the media, grass root and social networks ... anyway

The first five words in case there is doubt read "We the people of the
.... " and you could leave it there and walk off.

or

I'd go for 7 words.. and proudly include "United States".

If I were your agent/manager/PR person I would make a few dozen
t-shirts (a gross would be better) with the entire Constitution
printed on the front (your logo on the sleeve of course) Bill of
Rights on the back. Bundle a flyer with the T-shirts that lists how to
contact state and local politicians, links to their web sites Add to
this flyer any cause you feel passionate about, or is of importance.
Free speech, Citizen Journalism, Internet regulations and taxation,
come to my mind.

If you want to counter the seriousness with a bit of levity, as you
turn to leave the podium do a Snagglepuss style,
<http://www.2112.net/powerwindows/inspirations/Snagglepuss-ExitStageLeft.mp3>
as you toss them shirts

OR if the idea is to be keeping the humor, another Snagglepuss classic
... heavens to murgatroid!

How does the ordering look now to everyone?

:) cool.

Hm...I wonder if we could get a feed of all the blogs from vlogging
related sites/services (blip, feedburner, dtv, mefeedia, vlogmap,
vlogdir, etc, etc., etc.)....like a feed of updates, news, etc.

Thanks,
Devlon

Quality varies wildly with these, esp. when you get into the smaller (wider)
multipliers. I would stick with the more reputable brands (Century Optics,
Canon) unless you have the chance to try before you buy (or a source with a
great return policy). Since they aren't actual lenses but rather lens
adapters, also remember you are adding another piece of glass to your whole
lens assembly (with your existing zoom already wide - meaning more of the
surface of the lens in focus) so keeping things clean and the aperture as
open as possible becomes crucial.

OTOH, the weird distortion from the cheapo brands can be great for those of
us who like the option to turn our camcorders into video Holgas/Dianas/Lomos
when the mood strikes.

Good idea!

I'll set something up a little later today. (Got to go out for a bit.
And thus will be away from the computer for 3 or 4 hours.)

BTW... did you notice I've got the (text) blogs or various vloggers
aggregated under "Television Makers"?

I'm still trying to get a complete list though (of vloggers' blogs.).
Not everyone is on there yet.

If anyone wants to point out their (text) blog to me, please do and
I'll add you.

See ya
