Hello Frank,

I have sometime this problem with Moon images.
This is a know effect related to the environment ambient light and the umbra
direction. If the images where taken with the Sun on the left and you look at
your screen with the room source of light on the right you are subject to
this effect.
But I never observe that at the eyepiece.
