Per suggestion, in "setup" have set "smoothness" to maximum and that
helps significantly. Doesn't eliminate the problem completely,
though. Setting "penumbra" to a lower level mitigates the effect but
I prefer running it at its darkest (minimum) as it approaches more
closely what I see in my scope (i.e., virtually nothing on the dark
side of the terminator)
