If you have acrobat pro you can save it as a .jpeg. I do it all the time. You
can also crop the file any way you want and then save it as a .jpeg and insert
in your drawing which is useful now a days with every being in pdf format..

For low-res, I would open it in Acrobat Reader full-screen and do a screen capture (Ctrl-PrtScr) and paste the capture in a graphic program like Irfanview and...
