hello my name is jim and i am a volumebug victim.

Usual stuff; ASUS A7V with Promise and a USB scanner, persistent
BSODs with message "The volume that was removed had open files on
it". Thanks to the experience of others on this group I was able to
bypass the problem by stopping STIMON from running at startup.

However I have since revived STIMON by scheduling it at "system
startup" from the Win98 Task Scheduler. This seems to run it later in
the startup and I haven't had a problem since... YAY!!!
