I’ve started to add a debugger to
the windows vzem, similar to what the dos version had but with a gui
I mainly got inspired because I’m
trying to understand more how the basic interpreter works, and it helps if you
can actually trace through what is happening! I want to add basic support for
the extended graphic modes.
The debugger also paints the vz screen,
and if the scanline is in the active display (not in border or retrace) it will
display a blue bar showing where the beam is drawing, as well as printing the
scanline. Basically it allows you to single step through the instructions and
see what is happening with the hardware.
If I can get it all working I’ll do
another build soon! I think its pretty damn cool, and I’m fishing for
compliments J
