Description
The Young Professionals International Forum, also known as the IF, is a community of internationally-oriented young professionals who bring the ideas of their generation to the World Affairs Council of Northern California. It is an all volunteer group that serves to connect individuals who share a passion for international affairs in order to expand participants' networks and knowledge of global areas of interest.
The International Forum develops and hosts various activities throughout the year, ranging from public programs with receptions to the casual internationally-themed dinners to more formal seasonal receptions with distinguished foreign diplomats. These events are a great way to meet internationally-minded people and learn about the various IF projects.
Much of our activity is focused on bringing people together to share their knowledge and experiences. The International Forum develops and hosts a range of internationally-focused activities: speaker presentations, informal discussion groups, foreign language dinners, social get-togethers and language, book and foreign film groups. IF members also have access to World Affairs Council Board Members at regular off-the-record dinner conversations. Our events are well known throughout the Bay Area due to their innovative topics and intriguing personalities.
We welcome you to join our community. Outside of the rare change-of-date, our organizational meetings—the Steering Committee meeting—takes place the first Tuesday of the month from 6:30 PM to 8 PM. They are held at the World Affairs Council at 312 Sutter Street on the Second Floor in San Francisco. Guests and new members are always welcome. Please contact the Membership Chair, Shreerang Sudame (sssudame@yahoo.com), with any questions.
