Thanks

Hi,
I'm unable to browse WAP pages via WapTunnel gateway using Nokia
6310i V 4.06 05-04-02, NPL-1. With Nokia 6310 V 4.20 it works well
without any problem.
Any ideas?
Best regards,
Jan

The following code results in text and password inputs added to the
WML 1.3 site:
<p>
...
User:<input name="user" title="Username" type="text"/>
Password:<input name="pwd" title="Password" type="password"/>
..
</p>
To submit the entered data to the server using "Submit" link, you can
use the following code
<anchor title="Submit">Submit
<go href="<YOUR SERVER URL HERE>" method="post">
<postfield name="user" value="$user"/>
<postfield name="pwd" value="$pwd"/>
</go>
</anchor>

Patrik,
I believe this happens because the browser generates unusual requests
to the waptunnel gateway when it accesses the exact URL (bcause other
browsers can access the same URL just fine, try Nokia with the same
AOL Messager for yourself). Such incompatibilities are being fixed
when they are discovered and reproduced.
If you find more URLs like this just keep posting them into waptunnel
forum.
Thanks for help

Joel, I'm also having the same problems as yourself. I'm trying to
access wim.aol.com (AOL Instant Messanger). I get unsupported

Hi Joel,
Could you provide information on what kind of user agent/browser do
you use?

Ok, this is a basic question, and I hope it is ok to ask this here,
but why is it some sites work with some WAP gateways, and others
don't. Example: I can access Buy.com site (mobile.buy.com/wap) using
Ericsson's gateway, but it does not work through WapTunnel.
Can anyone give me the quick explanation?
Thanks!
Joel
I tried the waptunnel gateway, 207.232.99.109 . Voilla, Color!
Whatever has been done to the gateway now allows for color images on
esato.com on my Ericsson T68.

Hi, Michael
Could you try waptunnel gateway now. There were some changes made
that would allow passing color images to the devices that can support
them. Please let me know if anything has changed.

browser- images or parts of text as well?
Could you provide the URLs to the pages that you can see in color?

I am using 193.095.167.178 (set to connectionless mode) and it is
working fine now in color. On my ericsson T68, I guess it is
important to specify the mode, as they connect to different ports on
the gateway server?

I am able to connect to the waptunnel service just fine, but:

Is this because Waptunnel doesn't support color (yet)?

Keith,
Looks like you do everything fine.
If you can turn off authentication option try that. waptunnel does
not have authenitication user/password itself.

hi,
i am trying to browse through a WAP site from the Nokia 3330 handset
by connecting to the Wap tunnel gateway (207.232.99.109) by dialling
a local ISP. I have set the WAP settings to use the username and
password of my local ISP while dialling up and the IP address is set
to that of the gateway.(207.232.99.109). The other settings are as
follows: security-off, authentication-normal, call type-analogue,
bearer-data, connection- temporary. But i am not able to connect to
the website. It gives an connection time-out error. pl. could anyone
let me know what could be the problem and what can be done...

Olga,
I am using Go.Web from GoAmerica.
I tried mobile.yahoo.com/home and got through great!

I know that www.waptunnel.com does not have a WAP page and returns
HTML page to any request.

Dennis,
I know that www.waptunnel.com does not have a WAP WML page- it
returns HTML page to any request. I also get "Not a WAP site:
text/html" in my browser for both: hilton.com and mobile.yahoo.com.
Try "mobile.yahoo.com/home"- this is definitely a WAP page.

OK. I re-entered my ISP dial number in the username and password
section and that worked.
I am however, getting the error of:
Page size is too large. [???]
from trying to load the hilton.com wap site and/or www.waptunnel.com
and/or mobile.yahoo.com

I was able to connect to tflweb.gov.uk!

I am able to surf on a RIM pager) and mobile.yahoo.com

Dennis,
As far as I know, you don't need any password to use the WAP gateway.
Just enter 207.232.99.109 as a WAP gateway in your emulator settings.
For example, in Nokia Toolkit go to
Toolkit->Device Settings..., select "Use WAP Gateway" option and
enter the IP in the input box. This directs the Nokia emulator to use
this WAP gateway instead of HTTP connection (default).
Hope this helps...

What is the username and password settings to use the public
WAPtunnel server?
I have entered the ip address of 207.232.99.109 on my phone and tried
to dial-in using a dial-up connection and get an authentication
failure.
