Hello,
One thing that occurred to me as the greatest oil spill in world history (it is
world history, right?) unfolded before my eyes on the television screen, is that
if our culture had embraced Permaculture many decades ago as we should have
done, that this oil spill might never have happened. Maybe that goes without
saying here. But my point is that it’s a day late and a dollar short.
I guess I’m somewhat cynical where my faith in mankind is concerned. And in
this regard, if not for those who share our concern about this like in this
forum, I would lose faith entirely.
In any case, I have spent a great deal of time thinking of ways to spread the
knowledge and awareness to more people, because these things are not mainstream
and I can’t help thinking, suppressed in the media.
More than that, I think it important to actually show a vision of the future
where the concepts of sustainability have long since taken root and mankind has
managed to overcome its addiction to petrol, even to leaving what is left in the
ground.
Leaving it in the ground would, naturally, render the concept of peak oil moot,
as idealistic as that sounds. But we are at a crisis moment in history and that
would be the best solution; time to change how we have always done things.
How I wish I could afford to trade up my gas guzzling boat for a TESLA roadster!
Cooperatively,
