Eh? I didn't think I left anything like that in there. I just
downloaded the 2.3 tarball, to check, and here's what I get:
$ find . -name config.cache
$ find . -name status
$
Nothing. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding you, though. What file(s) are in
there that shouldn't be?
