To answer your question yes I have been getting the same error message and I am here in Texas. And for right now stopped using it for weather dock.

When I first got this software it was great... Just in the past year too many gliches with my Mac. Think it must be upgraded operating systems or something? Anyway, it's just not been working right for too long so I'm giving up and just using the net for weather. Too bad. It was a neat little program, when it WORKED. I just don't have the patience to wait for bug fixes.
I to have been having the same thing happening for over a month now.
No matter what I do, reinstall, quit app and restart...
I use to LOVE this app

Hi:
I also get the "n/a" icon with weather from Houston. I can get Galveston
weather (45 miles
away). and from other Texas cities. Houston temps and forecasts can be
substantially
different from other locations. This occurred suddenly, with no changes on my
part. Radar
has not been available for months. Have switched to Meteorologist, but will
keep checking
back with Advance in the hope that it comes back to life.

Ever since I got a new iMac I noticed that WeatherPop tends to crash a lot.
This behavior
manifests itself almost randomly in one of three ways: 1) application shows no
weather
information, 2) shows "n/a" instead of temperature 3) application does not
respond and
eventually quits all-together. Also, application often will take several
attempts to
successfully relaunch.
Upon further investigation I noticed my Favorite Locations tended to be
reporting weather
while my Primary Location was not. After switching my Primary to another city I
haven't
noticed any bad behavior for a few days. When switching back to my home
location,
Arlington VA, the software begins to exhibit the mentioned failures.
I have also noticed that source coverage for my primary location has changed
recently and
now contains only weatherunderground where previously weather.gov, aol, and
usatoday
were all available sources. I wonder why this is the case since all of these
sources are clearly
still providing coverage of my Primary, Arlington VA. I am wondering if
intermittent
availability of source coverage could be the culprit in the crashing? I am
running OS 10.4.11
- Tiger on a 6 month old iMac.
I am new to this group as well.
I live in Yokohama, Japan and the same problem happens with Weatherpop if it is
set to
Yokohama as the location but Tokyo works fine (although the server is
wunderground.com
and it doesn't give much weather information). I used to have great weather info
for
Yokohama with the server set to usatoday.
I hope that this problem can be resolved. Please let me know if you have any
ideas for fixes.
Thanks!
Having used 2.6.1 since it's release, I have noticed a problem since the upgrade
to
Leopard. I recently flushed my preferences but to no avail. I am running
10.5.2 (G5 DP),
time zone set to Phoenix (Due to DST issues: US vs. MX). I am running the
Advanced
mode (paid for) with units in Metric.
When I am set to "Mazatlan, Mexico", I get correct information but the Icon is
approximately 8 hours incorrect. At 10:30 AM, with WP using usatoday data,
namely:
Partly cloudy, 6:10AM/6:16PM sunrise/sunset, I see the SUNSET-PARTLY-CLOUDY
icon.
During the later part of the day, I will see the appropriate moon icons. Data
provided
includes: Later=Partly Cloudy
When I change to "San Francisco, CA", At 10:48AM, with WP using weather.gov
data,
namely: Fair, 7:16AM/7:19PM, I see the MORNING-FAIR icon. I assume that I will
see the
normal progression of icons. Data provided includes reports: Today=Mostly
Cloudy,
Tonight=Fog
I am almost positive that this began since Leopard, although I might have
upgraded to
2.6.1 when I moved to Leopard as I was an early user.
It is very frustrating because it seems to be correct but offset by about 8
hours when
using the Mexico location. The noticeable item is that it appears that USA
today is
providing data differently than Weather.Gov and it might be confusing it.
I have the preferred data source to be WeatherUnderground but, alas, it is not
being
used.
Never really had problems with WeatherPop before and have owned it for
many years.
Over the weekend the temperature disappeared in the menu bar and so
did the full radar layout.
I've changed the source twice - still the same. Have made changes and
did several restarts as well.
Any one got any ideas on this? I saw no new information on the website.
Thanks.
This issue has been persistent for a week now. Both my home G4 & my MBP are
behaving
identically, regardless of being on my home net or other hotspots. I have been
able to receive
weather data for other locations but again get an "n/a" when switching back to
Nashville. I
have updated iTunes, Quicktime and a few other media apps like Toast over the
last 7 days
but no OS changes. Suggestions?
Hello,
weatherpop 2.6.1 stopped working for New York/Mexico weather only
(MacX 10.4.11). I can still check Napli, Italy weather...but I do live
in New York...thanks
Bia
normally I sit back in awe of other user issues - not today - I
thought it might be 'fixed' apres holiday... however...
all other settings are accurate to 99%, but radar is mucked up.
will there be a dix, or does someone have a link for an older version
with radar for Tiger?

Peter,
You are right. WeatherPop only *appears* to defy logic. We do not
see the data as WeatherPop sees it.
Today it is working 100% correctly, all the readings display accurate
figures.
May I add my congratulations to Ben and Lisa for their excellent work.

I just wanted to toss out there that I use the paid version in
Lincoln, Neb., and for the most part, it works flawlessly! This is on
10.5.1.
Thank you to the developers for this wonderful and handy little program!
Occasionally, the menu bar icon won't show properly (for instance
right now it is showing a moon at 10:30 a.m.) but that's of no
consequence for me. I use it mainly for the current temps and such.
Keep up the good work!

As has been the case for others, WPA produces unspeakably huge
console-logs. What is meant by huge? Gigs and gigs and gigs over an
average day. Were there a debug mode that could be switched on and
off, that would be one thing and a good one too, but for it to be "on"
without exception, that's no good at all and it's making my machine
unusable, short of completely disabing WPA, something it seems we all
find ourselves having to do every few months for several months while
waiting for the all too uncommon update. And while we're at it; please
remove MenuCracker or at least allow WP to be less pissy about when we
do. I already have MEE on the Tiger machine that displays WPA. I don't
need both. Yes, I do understand that no APE is currently working with
Leopard. That, as they say, is another matter, and should be treated
as such. Where and when it works the redundancy of MC is unneeded and
undesired. Thanks

I don't even remember when I purchased weatherpop it was so long ago. I
remember I DID purchase it however. It was such a helpful little app on
my laptop for travel etc. when I lived in MT. I went thru channels to
try to find my registration but still no luck. Lately however, it
isn't working. I can't find any of my registration info. But mostly the
annoying thing is that the temp. is always wrong. Like for instance it
is now supposedly 1 degree in Eugene, OR. NOT! In preferences, it won't
let me change my sources. What's up?
Hi. New to the group. I've been using WeatherP for several years with no problem but lately it's bouncing back and forth between totally absurd temps and the real temps, at least in the menu bar. The forecast always seems to be right. I'm on an iMac with 10.4.11 running. Any help out there? oh, and also, in prefs it won't let me drag/drop to change the priorities of my sources.
Thanks.
Connect and share in new ways with Windows Live. Get it now!
It seems that WeatherPop's website is down due to a failed database connection.
Even
though it shows the last update information as being today at 16:48, my
WeatherPop has not
actually updated with correct weather data for awhile now.
Anyone know what's going on?

USA Today has consistently been a poor forecaster for Falls Village, CT. To make
matters
worse, a day ago WeatherPop started refusing to source from anyone else,
regardless of the
order set in Preferences. So, this morning I found and removed the config files
associated
with usatoday.com. Now, all is well once again with my forecast, retrieved as
desired from
Weather Underground.
i don't think weatherpop defies logic ... if i'm not mistaken,
weatherpop gets its info by screen scraping complex web sites that
undergo frequent redesign.
i'm amazed it works at all.

WeatherPop continues to offer entertainment far above its modest price.
Last week WeatherPop suddenly threw a wobbly and replaced the temperature on the menu bar with "n/a" and all the readings in the drop down menu (Humidity, Wind, Visibility, Sunrise & Set, etc., etc) were replaced with "Type in city name or U.S. Zip code to obtain ... all forecast locations in that state or nation" . W/P had been working normally all morning and then at 11.32, boom! I changed my city from Derby, UK to Nottingham UK (I live half way between the two) and WeatherPop began working normally again, except that I got the moon during the day instead of the sun. Today I installed Leopard version 10.5.2 and the Leopard Graphics update, and when I restarted my computer the moon had gone and there shone the sun. Outside has shone all morning. (It is so warm and sunny here I have a yellow brimstone butterfly Gonepteryx rhamni sunning itself outside my window – WeatherPop doesn't show that, by the way – but nobody's perfect.) On my computer the sun still shines. Derby's readings have all returned to normal, except for wind speed, which still asks me to type in city name etc. Last week all reading were replaced by "Type in city or U.S. zip code..."; today all the correct readings are back, except one!
In conclusion:
1. Users who have been suffering from problems should try upgrading to 10.5.2, and see if that cures them.
2. WeatherPop continues to defy logic.
3. If W/P ignores your first or second choices of data source that is because it cannnot make sense of the readings, even if you can, and not because it is trying to annoy you.
Hope this helps some of you.
I am off into the garden now to enjoy the sunshine.

I have noticed the same thing, I currently live in Atlantic County, NJ
and usatoday.com is number three on my provider list and is generally
displayed. When I select the current location weather, but when I
select the listed temperatures of the other locations, which is
located under the current location weather information; Philadelphia &
New York City, the weather underground forecast appears; which is
second on my provider list. In addition, my radar image is
weather.gov, which no longer seems to appear for forecasts, even
though it is first on my provider list.
