The Web Indexing SIG will have an informal networking meeting during
the ASI conference in Portland, OR, during the buffet lunch on Friday,
April 24th , 11:30am - 12:30pm.

Our table will be shared with the Taxonomies and Controlled
Vocabularies SIG to maximise networking opportunities. I am including
a message below from Heather Hedden (writing as Manager of the
Taxonomies and CV SIG) explaining more about this joint table.

Just as Heather has asked for a member of the Taxonomies and CV SIG to
commit to be present from 11:30 to 12:00 and another member from 12:00
to 12:30, we need two members to do the same for the Web Indexing SIG.
Please let me know if you are willing to volunteer. Neither Heather
or I will be attending the conference.

This will not be a business meeting, and you need not be a SIG member or
ASI member to attend this informal gathering. This lunch will be a
buffet, rather than served, so you are free to come and go from our SIG
table and visit other SIGs as well.

I would also like to make request that one SIG member commit to be
present at the table from 11:30 to 12:00 and another member commit to be
present from 12:00 to 12:30. That way we have the table covered with at
least one SIG member in case new people come up and ask "what are
taxonomies?" Please let me know if you are willing to volunteer, and if
you are not sure what to say when someone asks questions, I'll give you
some basic information. Thanks.
