Need Help in Setting up Google Analtyics Filters   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #13680 of 24284 |
Hello,

I was wondering if anyone on this list has had experience in setting
up filters for Google Analtics. I am looking to track subprofiles
separately in each profile.

The main website is www.unitek.com/training, and the sub directory is
www.unitek.com/training/netapp. If someone could verify the following
steps, it'd be appreciated.

1.) I can set up one general analytics account for www.unitek.com/training

2.) I then set up preconfigured filters such as

I would set up "Include only traffic to a subdirectory", and then netapp
which www.unitek.com/training would be formatted as "^/training/netapp/"

3.) I then repeat step 2 for all other sub portals to parse out traffic
appropriately.

In addition to this, is it possible to create a virtual goal page in
analytics? Basically I want analytics to think that page "xxxx" is
page "yyyy". I then want to track "yyyy" across several different sub
profiles. Would this be possible?

I appreciate any help that anyone can give.

Thank you

Eric, you can use an advanced filter to rewrite 'xxxx' into 'yyyy' using regular expressions so watch your step! :) Once the rewriting happens, you can use the...

It has typically been my best practice to always create and keep an unfiltered profile for all websites. If you need to apply filters of any type I highly...
