Re: Okay, if you folks keep this up, I'm moving to SWEDEN!

Thank you, Eric.

First of all, I'd just like to let all of you know there are some
goodies for everyone further down (PDFs in English).

The fourth Web Analytics Wednesday in Stockholm, Sweden, was a success.
Our event keeps on growing. Over 85 people were signed up.
Unfortunately, a few had caught the flu and had to cancel, but we still
had a good turn out. We met at Radisson SAS Royal Viking in the heart of
downtown Stockholm, listened to presentations, had good food and wine,
and chatted. The hosts of the evening were WebTrends, Instadia and
Omniture. The event was coordinated by the Web Analytics Association
through yours truly. Naturally, the event was free to all participants
thanks to the generous sponsorship of the hosts.

We listened to no less than five very interesting presentations during a
packed hour.

First out was Hans Nordlöv, who told everyone what KIA is and what KIA
Index is. Besides being the chairman of KIA, Hans works for beer giant
Carlsberg.

Next out was Mikael Karlsson, who works on the website Resoner.nu that
writes about analyses and surveys. He further presented the work on KIA
Index and explained that he has lobbied hard for more web analytics
tools to be an accepted means of measuring website traffic according to
KIA Index. Method over tool. Mikael also spoke about Ecentric
(www.ecentric.org), where you can see which websites are the most
popular in the Nordic region. In his daily work, Mikael works for media
giant Aftonbladet.

Then it was time for Mattias Berglundh (WebTrends), Magnus Hultman
(Instadia) and Neil Morgan (Omniture) to present their views on the
future of web analytics. They were all very interesting. You can
download their presentations here: http://www.webanalysts.info/nov8.html

Can you guess how many blogs there currently are in the world? No,
there's no prize if your guess is correct. Had you been at WAW you could
have won a scarf from Omniture, though.

Two interesting piece of news for you is that both WebTrends and
Omniture are opening local offices in Sweden. Who's next? Instadia
already has a presence in Lund and Stockholm.WebSideStory has a presence
through Fulton Yancy. 2007 will be a very interesting year for web
analytics in Sweden.

Happy weekend wishes from Sweden,
Lars Johansson

Eighty-four people signed up so far in Stockholm for Web Analytics
Wednesday next week! Eighty-four!! I was thinking about sponsoring a
contest and giving the city that has the largest documented attendance
at a WAW event free signed copies of Web Analytics Demystified but I
don't think my CPA wants me to give away nearly 100 copies! Man, you
folks should be proud. Go SWEDEN!
