WEB ANALYTICS MANAGER
I. OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
The TWCi Web Analytics Manager (WAM) is responsible for
providing web metrics and relevant analyses to various business units in the
organization, with the goal of allowing end-users to understand the site’s
strengths and weaknesses and make informed business, marketing and product
decisions. The WAM is the primary resource for web metrics inquiries but must
also be proactive and inquisitive in analyzing user behavior to improve overall
customer experience.
II. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Run scheduled and ad-hoc
reports for various metrics users on a daily, weekly and monthly basis,
with explanation of the numbers’ meaning, presented in a clear
manner to a variety of audiences.
- Develop and evolve scheduled
reports and standardize organization’s metrics terminology.
- Use various metrics systems to
analyze user behavior on site (i.e. clickstream analysis, key performance
indicators (KPIs), user segmentation, etc.).
- Assist the Product Development
team in defining relevant metrics (KPIs), reporting on them and
understanding the business application of the data.
- Work with Marketing to measure
effectiveness of on-site and off-site traffic drivers (e.g. in-house
promotions, registration flows, search engine optimization and marketing).
- Provide the Design team with
data on user behavior trends and preferences to guide decisions in site
design/information architecture.
- Be organization’s expert
on most effective usage of third-party reporting tool (e.g. Coremetrics, Hitwise);
manage relationship with third-party reporting tool’s analyst; be a
point-person within the organization for training on the tool as well as
setting up reports.
- Ensure tracking mechanisms are
properly implemented on new products and track performance after launch
(or assist the appropriate person(s) with doing so).
- Manage aggregation of
TWCi’s monthly performance metrics for all business units;
efficiently organize and lead monthly meeting with representation from
each group to share these metrics
- Maintain schedule of
products/tests to be launched to the Beta site and track performance for
evaluation before launch to live site.
- Manage selection,
implementation, and ongoing usage of third-party multivariate testing and
site optimization (e.g., Optimost, Offermatica, Widemile, etc.)
III. QUALIFICATIONS
A. KNOWLEDGE
- Undergraduate degree required
- 4-6 years experience as an
analyst/marketing researcher in an Internet company, Internet division of
a company or Internet consulting firm
- SKILLS
