Content Manager, Artist Community
Come join the worldwide leader in online art to build out a new,
revolutionary artist community. We need your passion to drive the best
content experience for our artists.
In this role, you will take a leadership role in (i) developing a
website content strategy, (ii) managing an editorial calendar, (iii)
creating and acquiring thought-provoking content, (iv) delivering key
business metrics, and (v) managing the programming of content across
the artist community site.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop a highly-creative content strategy to provide artists with a
rich library of resources and information to help advance their
artistic careers.
• Identify and prioritize content features, including: art industry
news, how-to guides, blogs, feature articles, weekly columns, vendor
directory, listings (events, exhibitions, competitions, calls for art,
workshops), polls, tips, podcasts.
• Develop and manage a dynamic editorial calendar across all relevant
customer channels.
• Deliver a content development plan which includes writing original,
fresh content, soliciting user-generated content (from Artist
Members), and working with 3rd parties, such as art industry experts,
to acquire or commission necessary content.
• Define and deliver weekly metrics to reflect impact of content on
business.
• Gather artist and competitive insights to ensure content continually
meets and exceeds customer needs.
• Manage all aspects of the content publication process, including
copyediting and programming content. Leverage content management tool
and partner with product management to schedule in-product copy changes.
• Deliver a tone and style guide.
• Work closely with visual design teams to drive content layout,
structure and interaction.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Superior written and verbal communication skills.
• Creative personality with a flair for designing and writing
compelling content.
• 5+ years of web content management and/or editorial writing
experience. Weblog/Blog writing and management experience is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Experience in negotiating content acquisition/licensing deals.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; a team player with the ability to
build strong internal and external relationships.
• Deadline driven professional able to multitask in a fast-paced
environment.
• Strong interest in contemporary art and the artist community.
• Knowledge of HTML and content management systems; understanding of
best practices in web usability and design.
