Community Manager
The
Community Manager plays a key role in Pragmatic Marketing's online initiatives.
Reporting to the Director of Marketing, this position is responsible for
developing and maintaining the company's online community and content to
maximize accessibility, usability and effectiveness. With Pragmatic Marketing's
leadership role in technology product management and marketing, a background in
one of these disciplines is essential.
Experience in motivating members to interact and leverage
distributed models of content contribution by virtual editorial teams are
mandatory. The ideal candidate will have developed tools to stimulate online
usage and content creation along with a proven track record of delivering
active self-managing communities of content-contributors. Experience developing
online editorial policies to attract stimulating content and avoid litigation
is also needed.
We are looking for a hard working team member, who has a
fierce attention to detail, an eagerness to learn new things, with a strong
interest in the field of technology product management and marketing. Knowledge
of the Pragmatic Marketing Framework is a must.
Required Experience
Domain expertise in technology product
management or marketing with knowledge of industry trends, events and thought
leaders.
1-3 years in online community management including online
chat or forum moderation. Ability to write original content or blog is
definitely preferred.
Familiarity with the latest industry developments regarding online communities
and associated technology.
Strong background in user-driven web-based tools (forums,
message boards, blogs, etc.). Familiarity with web site content management
systems desired, Plone experience preferred.
Job Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of the Pragmatic Marketing
community offering and, working closely with others in the web site team, its
relationship to in-house created and user-contributed content. Develop and
manage processes/policies for all aspects of the online community.
Serve as an official spokesperson to the community. Develop
trust, and an online persona that generates loyalty within the community.
Analyze, understand and prioritize the needs of the community. Use community
feedback and experience to contribute to the design, vision and utility of the
site.
Keep community website properties updated with fresh
content. Moderate message boards for appropriateness and answer community
inquiries. Manage online events.
Create effective community outreach including viral
programs, online chats, exclusive content, etc. to ensure the continued growth
and success of the online community.
Assist in online marketing research and strategic planning.
