Then I must confess. My ancient Palm device is serial and I have not
sought out a USB to Serial converter. Plus the "new" OS X Mac in the
family is not mine -- I have mostly converted to linux. When I run Mac
OS 9 (for those apps I haven't converted), I use MOL (Mac-on-Linux),
which doesn't know about serial ports. MOL might do USB but my old Mac
doesn't.
So while I continue to maintain the Confidential data on the Palm, it
hasn't been able to sync with my desktop since I started using linux.
I use J-Pilot under linux to sync and back up the Palm. Ultimately I
was hoping to be able to share the Confidential data with the
linux-compatible KeyRing, but it doesn't appear to have an import or
export feature, at least not one exposed via J-Pilot.
I have been very satisfied with Web Confidential, both on the Palm and
on the Mac, but I am trying to move as much of my data as I can to
openly supported data formats, or at least to applications that run on
linux.
Web Confidential is an application I use every day that isn't
compatible with linux, and I haven't figured any way to sync it with
something that is. I have not expected you to open your format or
provide a linux application because the market would be so small. SO
if I ultimately decide I must have my Confidential data on the
desktop, I might have to enter it manually into some another application.
But thank you very much for your response!
