The Future of the Weblogger Group?

I'll be at the WWW conference this week, but something I'm starting to
think about is the future of the Weblogging Interest Group.

Obviously we haven't had a meeting in a while. That's mostly due to
chaos that was happening in my life that now is behind me. I'm in a new
job now (working at NEC) and my personal life has calmed down to a dull
roar rather than a flaming forest fire.

Anyway, I still love weblogging and I still love hanging out with
webloggers.

Since most of you just want to get together and do some social stuff
(er, drink beer together) I was wondering if you all would like to
change the format a bit.

Why don't we pick a place to meet and socialize together.

Lately I've been hanging out with various webloggers at museums, tourist
traps, beer halls, and movies.

So, why don't we go some place together, say, San Francisco's Legion of
Honor museum, take a tour through the museum together, and then go and
have lunch or an early dinner together somewhere?

That'd add some context to our afternoon and give us something to
discuss other than whether weblogging is journalism or not.

:-)

Anyway, I'm up for a meeting in late May. How about Saturday, May 25?
Say at noon?

If you don't like that idea, maybe you all wanna catch Star Wars on
Thursday, May 16 together? I'll be at Century 22 in San Jose.

Or, come up with some other idea. I again have a little time to spend
putting something like this together.

Thanks!

Robert Scoble
