I'd consider that more of an issue with eGroups/OneList, myself. I'd give
them a fair chance of going out of business when the venture money runs out
and their business model proves to be a flop.
I suspect I'm not the only one with a complete local archive (since my
joining the list, anyhow). In an emergency, I expect the community could
scrape up something pretty close to a complete record.
But I'm not volunteering to host, not me, no sir!
