Yup - try www.blogstudio.com. I've got my own little effort there:
www.blogstudio.com/woodgnome . You can have a free account, which I think
gives you 1mb of free space, and a paid account, ($20 a year), give you 10mb
of space + other goodies like WAP phone updating, and the ability to update
Blogger/Blogspot webpages with the same blog entry at the same time. It's
all clever stuff.(Browser based for the free account, browser or FTP for the
paid account)
Hint: register with http://www.doramail.com/templates/common/us/tos.htm -
Doramail, set up a basic website there, use their 30mb of space to 'hotlink'
back to your own.
Hint hint: You could just register with www.pitas.com - get a website for
free, (all browser based), and use your Doramail webspace to store your
piccies. (Remembering to use your Doramail account occasionally in case
they decide to shut you down because you ARE just using their webspace for
storage!)
p.s. - I never told you any of this, alright ? ;)
Paul
I currently have a blog on Blogspot but I am seriously considering moving it.
(Right now Blogspot does not offer upgrades to better features such as posting
images) ANyone have some suggestions for a good service that I could move to
that wont cost me an arm and a leg? (This is just a hobby for me not my job)
Thanks for the help.

hi yeah,
i keep a couple weblogs I found yours too. I created a blogging community group
that seems to be thriving. I didn't know this one existed. Its hard to find one
that is social and fun. lol not that they necessarily compete. The parallel is
nice! Its always cool to meet new bloggers. My blogs are unique. The one I work
with the most is the social techie one called eCriteria datablog. I also run on
blogspot blogs. They are so affordable lol :). www.ecriteria.blogspot.com

LINK AND THINK 2002:
Weblogs & Journals on World AIDS Day
<http://www.linkandthink.org/>
December 1, 2002
What: Link and Think is an observance of World AIDS Day in the
personal web publishing communities. The project involves
hundreds of webloggers, journalers, diarists and other personal
website publishers, each linking to resources about HIV/AIDS or
publishing personal stories about how the AIDS pandemic has
affected them.
When: World AIDS Day, December 1, 2002
Who: Anyone who publishes a personal weblog, diary, journal,
blog, newspage, E/N site or other frequently updated personal
website is invited and encouraged to Participate.
How: On December 1, use your weblog to publish links to
resources about HIV/AIDS, to news articles about new research
and treatment protocols, to works of art created by people living
with AIDS, to organizations working to eradicate the disease, or
to other websites your readers might find useful in educating
themselves about AIDS. If you publish a journal or diary, tell a
story about how AIDS has affected you and those you love or
recall how a friend confronted an HIV diagnosis or how you feel
about ideas such as works exchange programs or frank sex
education or a million other topics. It's up to you!
Where: On the web, of course, and in the real world too! Link to
cool sites. Think about how AIDS affects you. React to the threat
of AIDS around the world. Act by getting involved with a local
AIDS service organization.
Why: Because AIDS is not over and because you can make a
difference. Every weblog, journal and personal site on the web
has a different audience, a collection of friends, family and peers
who look to it for information important to its publisher. Focus on
AIDS for one day -- World AIDS Day -- and help spread
information about the disease, its treatment, those we have lost
and those who survive. Because AIDS is not over and because
you can make a difference.
It looks like there's been some spamming on this and other Yahoo
groups. I'm sorry if it's caused anyone distress, and please be
assured that I have deleted the offending addresses from the list and
reported them to Yahoo.
Since the spammers are getting more clever by joining the groups
before hitting them, I've changed the settings here so that newly-
joined members will have their messages moderated before being sent
out to the list. This means that I (or Dave Winer, the original
moderator here) will have to approve those messages before the other
subscribers see them. Once I'm satisfied that the member isn't a
spammer, I will let them post unmoderated messages. This way, people
can still subscribe to the list freely, but their first post will be
vetted by a human.
I hope this helps. I realize this is a pretty low-traffic group
(presumably people are too busy posting on their weblogs!) but I'll
try to keep up with it as best I can.
Regards,
Mark Gardner

Thru a clever use of SSI, and multiple script installs, Greymatter could do
it. But Movable Type is built for exactly what you are talking about - and
it'd only take one install of the script to get it all working.

Hello, All,
I was interested in knowing if there is a Weblog enviroment (ala
Movable Type, Greymatter, et.al) that has some specific functionality
that I was looking for. What I would like to have is a Weblog which
is composed of many mini-Weblogs. I would like to have a Main Weblog
on the front page with the ability add the obligatory Quick Links
along the side. This Main Weblog could be composed of many different
entries with of many different subjects.
In addition I would like to be able to create mini Subject-Oriented
weblogs within the same framework. Each mini Subject-Oriented weblog
could have a different set of entries from the Front Page and could
also have a different set of Quick Links along the side.
When I creat a new Weblog entry I could drop into a specific subject
category, e.g. Books, and then when I displayed the Subject-Oriented
weblog that entry would show up. Also when I create the entry I
could have the option of posting it to the front page (aka the Main
Weblog).
So if the directory structure looked like this...
www.mydomain.com/blog/
www.mydomain.com/blog/books
www.mydomain.com/blog/movies
The www.mydomain.com/blog/ would be the Main Weblog and would contain
all of the entries that I posted to it and any entries from
www.mydomain.com/blog/books and www.mydomain.com/blog/movies that I
chose to post to the Main Weblog. In addition
www.mydomain.com/blog/books would have it's own entries as well as
www.mydomain.com/blog/movies as well as Quick Links.
Not that I think about it it would be nice to be able to do cross
posting to different subjects as well. The blog that I've seen which
does the closest job of what I am looking for is
http://www.whump.com/moreLikeThis/index.php3.
Well, I hope I did a passable job of explaining that. Of course I
realize that I could create something like this from hand but I was
looking for an environment which could help take some of the
bookkeeping and busy work out of it.
Thanks In Advance,
Dan Geiser <dgeiser13@...>
http://bitstream.manilasites.com/
Just got around to launching my log, it's at:
http://www.JustAddBrains.com
I would love to hear from fellow bloggers/loggers about getting
traffic and any other tips.
J.
Hello, All,
I had an idea about creating a Weblog Census project to get an
accurate count of the number of weblogs currently in existence. In
addition this project could gather some non-intrusive demographic
information, e.g. gender or country of origin, etc., if those
implementing the project thought that it would appropriate. A small
web site with a questionaire which participants could complete and a
display of the totals of all the information gathered I think would
suffice. If everyone who was aware of the project participated and
passed the knowledge of its existence along to anyone who currently
weblogs or has weblogged in the past then I think it would be
possible to get a semi-accurate tally.
Unfortunately I don't have the technical wherewithal to a implement a
project like this but I would be glad to do anything that I could to
find webspace, bandwidth or technically minded volunteers as well as
evangelizing the Weblog Census.
For anyone who thinks that this idea has some merit I have created a
Yahoo! discussion group called BlogCount,
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/blogcount/, for discussion. Please
