Odor tracking with a swarm of robots Talking Robots Podcast interview of Olivier Michel
Thomas Lochmatter and his Khepera III robot Thomas Lochmatter from the SWIS research group at EPFL developed an interesting odor tracking system based on a swarm of small mobile robots able to identify odors and find their sources. This research could have interesting applications especially in demining fields where humans and animals could be replaced by robots. Read more in French or in German.

Olivier Michel Markus Waibel from the Talking Robots Podcast interviewed Olivier Michel: "In this interview we talk to Olivier Michel, the founder of Cyberbotics Ltd., a company specialized in robot simulation, about his business experience [...]". The complete Podcast can be downloaded as an MP3 file (9MB).
Kondo KHR-2HV simulation using Webots (video) Webots mentioned in Servo magazine
KHR-2HV robot model in Webots Laurent Lessieux wrote an interesting article in robots-dreams.com where he explains how he created a simulation of the Kondo KHR-2HV robot in Webots (and compares Webots to Microsoft Robotics Studio). The video shows an impressive series of movements that were designed for the real robot and that execute nicely in simulation. The work of Laurent will be included in an upcoming version of Webots. He also released a nice software called Webots Generator to help creating models in Webots from CAD files.
Servo magazine The Feburary issue of Servo magazine is featuring an article by Bryan Bergeron entitled "Robot Simulation: AI behaviors" which has a few nice words on Webots. From the article: "Robot simulation isn’t limited to research and development. Most factory robots ship with robot simulations that enable operators and programmers to work out process and coding challenges before potentially ruining a robot or jeopardizing an entire assembly line."
