Spherical camera modeling in Webots Katana 1.2 robot available for purchase
Spherical camera image Simon Blanchoud implemented a sample Webots application using spherical cameras. Unlike plane camera which project the image on a plane, spherical camera project the image on a sphere. This is very useful for implementing panoramic cameras, or range finders like the SICK sensor. This sample application was included in Webots 5.1.12 in the sample/howto folder.

Katana IPR 1.2 robot Neuronics released a major upgrade of their well known Katana robotic arm which is modeled in Webots. The new model has the same mechanical structure as the previous one, but the electronics was completely redesigned featuring a CPU board with real time Linux and various connection ports (USB, Ethernet, etc.). The new version of this robotic arm is available for purchase from Cyberbotics.
Webots 5.1.12 available for download
Webots This new version of Webots includes a first version of the cross-compiler for the e-puck robot running on all platforms (e.g., Windows, Linux and Mac OS X). It also includes the spherical camera sample and fixes quite a few bugs. The complete change log is available here. You can download this new release from here.
