Webots 6 to be released within one month! Webots ruby bindings
Webots
We are currently finalizing the new major release of Webots tagged Webots 6. Webots 6 features many great improvements on the Webots 5 series, including new reworked programming interfaces (in C, C++, Java, Python, URBI), a more powerful supervisor API, new devices (Gyro, Compass, reworked GPS and Accelerometer), a built-in motion editor and many small improvements and bug fixes. Regular users of Webots 5 under the terms of their Premier service will be able to upgrade free of charge.

Ruby Jesse van dehas released a new version of his Ruby bindings for Webots. This 2.0 version contains more bindings (supervisor API bindings especially) and some small bugfixes. You can download it from the webots-ruby web page.
Robotstadium competition up and running
Rat's Life competition running at Skövde University!
Robotstadium The Robotstadium competition is live again: KaI (Germany) is currently challenging CMRobokids (Carnegy Mellon University, USA, winner of the finals in RoboCup'08) with a new version of his controller and double.p (Italy) achieved promizing progresses recently, reaching rank #4. If you are interested in programming realistic Nao humanoid robots to play soccer, you are very welcome to join and compare the performance of your robot team against the best teams of Robotstadium. The robots can be programmed in URBI, Java or C/C++.
Rat's Life Tony Morse is running a Webots Rat's Life competition at www.theprovinggrounds.net. The site provides an online robot programming benchmark ideal for students and researchers alike. Tony uses this site as teaching and coursework material for his students and is happy to share it with others. So far, 6 competitors are appearing in the hall of fame and Tony's robot is ranked number one! Obviously, he need some more challengers!
Aibo cross-compilation with camera support

Aibo Jorge Grande, working with Prof. Teresa Escrig in Jaume University (Spain) released a new improved version of the Webots cross-compiler for the Aibo robot, with the help of Ricardo Tellez. This new version includes support the Aibo camera.  You can download it from our Aibo support web page.
