Webots 6.0.0 released!

 Webot 6.0.0 is available for download for Linux 32, Linux 64, Mac OS X and Windows! Webots 6 features many great improvements on the Webots 5 series, including a new graphical user interface with a main window including sub-windows, a new reworked programming interfaces (in C, C++, Java, Python, URBI), a more powerful supervisor API, new devices (Gyro, Compass, reworked GPS and Accelerometer), a built-in motion editor and many small improvements and bug fixes. Regular users of Webots 5 under the terms of their Premier service will be able to upgrade free of charge.

Stewart plaform simulation
Stewart Platform Yvan Bourquin developed a Webots simulation model of a Stewart platform. A Stewart platform is a kind of parallel manipulator using an octahedral assembly of struts. A Stewart platform has six degrees of freedom (x, y, z, pitch, roll, and yaw). In this example, the Stewart platform is loaded with a few stacked boxes, then the platform moves and the boxes stumble appart. This simulation uses a physics plug-in to attach both ends of the linear actuators (hydraulic pistons) to the lower and the upper parts of the Stewart platform. Webots 6 includes all the sources files for this simulation model (world file generator, physics plug-in and robot controller).
