Webots Newsletter January 2003
o Webots 4 progress report
We set up a web page to display the progress report in the
development of Webots 4. We are currently integrating a
new collision detection library and will release a first
beta version by the end of January. More information on
http://cyberboticspc1.epfl.ch/products/webots/webots4_popup.html
o ALife Contest growing
We have now 23 competitors engaged in the contest,
controllers are updated frequently and the hall of fame is
evolving smoothly. New big names recently made their way
in the hall of fame: FreeTime (USA) and FriJClaude
(France) are about challenge the number one, currently
LuBot. More information on

o Webots EDU success
Since we introduced a few months ago the special version
of Webots EDU, targeted at education, we sold many packs
of 10+ licenses worldwide, mainly for robotics and
programming teaching. Webots is becoming a plateform of
choice for teachers who can let students play with
mobile robots with no limits. If you have any plan to
set up a new robotics course, feel free to contact us.
