Do you like jokes? I send out several almost every day.... by means of my several joke newsletters.

If you are interested send a blank e-mail from the e-mail address that want to receive the jokes to:
generaljokes-subscribe@...

Shortly you will receive an e-mail from topica, asking your permission to be added to the joke list. IMPORTANT: If you do not confirm that you do, by clicking on the enclosed link, you will not be added to the list.

I DO NOT normally send jokes to this group as it has MORE IMPORTANT ISSUES to deal with. The only way to try my jokes is to subscribe to the list, you can stop anytime that you want.

To whom it may concern.

My hotmail address is bouncing all posts from my account. I have
temporarly changed my Yahoo groups to a different
e-mail address until problem solved..

Many of my posts have gone astray over the last two weeks. I was
notaware of the problem. I will repost them.

My hotmail account is still working for private e-mails.

First SORRY TO EVERYONE on this group. Please let me explain what
happened, PLEASE....

I joined a website called BEBO at the request of a friend. BEBO is
part of birthdayalarm.com, a group that I used for several years.

In the signup process it asked if I wanted to invite my friends in
my hotmail adddress book. Without realizing that this group was
there, I said yes. It sent an invitation to this group. When someone
in this group clicked on the link to join, BEBO thought that the
group email address belonged to that person and automatically sent
back the thank you for joining message.

Peole are very welcome to join my address book, but it is ,of
course, NOT REQUIRED...

I will be mre careful next time.

SORRY AGAIN..

Angel,

I just went to your NEW group.

I owe you an apology: You got the Java code to work there .. Leaves
you more room for the description. Very good!

You should send people to the front page with the description, if
possible. People don't often join, if they don't know what the group
is about. If you are joining more webrings make sure that you
register this page:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NCFriendsforInmatesEverywhere2 - not
your join page as the automatic ring checker will look for the java
code on your registered page.

You need to delete your old group from Yahoo and the link section in
this group, so people don't try to join it...

Good job!!

Thanks for adding to our link section.. :-)

Actually the Java code will NOT work. (it is the short text file)

The HTML (longer file) will work..

Webring staff does NOT care which you use, the problem is thier
automatic ring checker sometimes doesn't "see" the HTML CODE and the
ringmaster (not webring staff), don't always check for the HTLM code
and allow the site to beccome susspended/deleted..

Hi Gil,

Thanks for your post. I too have gotten frustrated with 'webring'
and yahoo groups. For instance, I can not get the navigation code to
work for my group Thomasville_Freecycle. But I can get the html
version to work in my NCFriendsforInmatesEverywhere and
NCFriendsforInmatesEverywhere2 groups.

The way I did it, is I went into the 'management' part of the groups
homepage, then I clicked on 'description and appearance', then edit
then after my text for the description I inserted my code. Like
Truman says, the text version of the navigation code will NOT work
in Yahoo groups. But the html version will. Webring staff will not
pass all yahoo groups with html version codes in their website. I am
not sure why.

Good luck to you......

This maybe a wasted post. LOL

I would like to tell any members that read these messages to change
to "specical announcements" or higher. You will not recieve
many "special announcements, I promise. This way I can contact you,
if
needed...

It also tells me that you are interested in the group. It seems some
people just drop off a webring and then leave..

I will start deleting those people and maybe thier rings from the
link
section as well. I really don't want to do this, but I will.

Mike,

I started to answer this before all ythe problems with my wife's
uncle..

Yahoo places all these people in a bouncing file. They NEVER delete
anyone. (looks good to say they are still members to advertisers)

There are two types of bouncing.

Hard boucing: The e-mail is invaid.

Soft boucing: the ddress is vald, but there is anther problem (like
mail box too full)

I do not delete soft bouncers too quickly, a this could happen to
anyone. Hard bouncer are another thing and you will never be able to
contact them. They are in violation of the Yahoo terms of service as
well.

Hope this clearfies my decision.

The link section is always open for postingthem. Be sure to put them

You also can post the ring to the message board one tme. Be sure to

Gil,

This is a fairly common request.

Yahoo groups don't work well with webrings because they limit the
type of code and it's length.

Some people have been able to use the HTML code on thier groups. It
really limits any else in the group's discription though. The Java
code will NOT work.

Other people have registered a website URL (something like
Geocities) and placed the code there. Then they put a text link to
the Yahoo group on that page as well. It is important that the
person be able to get back to the registered URL to continue the
ring journey(another link back). Some ringmasters will not approve
of this method. (Thier choice)

Hope this helps! (write back, if not)

Things changed drastically for me the other day..

My wife's uncle had a massive heart attack, his wife is both blind
and deaf and needs a caretaker with her...

I am home for a few days. My wife is staying with her aunt as a
caregiver ... Being blind and deaf, she needs someone there.

Her Uncle is scheduled for a quadruple by-pass next Monday or
Tuesday... Four arteries blocked...

After that she will take a break at home a few days while I fill as
the caregiver. We will switch back aand fourth... No computer there
and my laptop needs an expensive part.. SOB. So, I will off the net
at least 1/2 of each week. (recovery time at least three months...)

This may cause some problems since there is no other moderator in
this group. Please be patient, I will be checking inon this group
when I am home...

Just took over the seniors on-line webring. I haven't done up a
homepage yet, but the hub is at:

http://o.webring.com/hub?ring=fiftyplus

Ring Information:

This is a Ring for people 55+ that are on the net.. We are NOT all
technically challenged and many of us enjoy the Internet. We build
webpages and this is a way to show our handi-work. If you fit the
age requirement, come join us and show the younger generation that
we are here too.. I just took over the ring and plan to limit the
number of "for Seniors" pages allowed to those already in the ring.
*********************
No prono sites, get rich scemes, and other questionable sites will
be admitted. This ring is for fun & enjoyment of all.

If this sounds like you, please join...

To see all my rings (various subjects) go to:

http://www.internet-fun.net/webrings.html

Thanks!

Truman

Please keep your e-mail address current with Yahoo! It is part of
your terms of service with Yahoo. The moderators need to get hold of
you at times. (very seldom)

I went through and had to delete (remove) about 6 members of this
group today.
