Description

Welcome to Whizbangchickenpluckers!

The above photo was posted to this group by David Ely of Indiana. He built the Whizbang Plucker shown in the photo for approx. $200. Those 9 kids (count em') are David's. His family dresses out 150 to 200 chickens a year. He says his kids are smiling in the picture because they'll never have to hand-pluck chickens again. "Never have we had chickens plucked so clean with so little effort," says David.

This is a group where small-farm and backyard poultry producers can compare notes and discuss everything related to the subject of processing poultry.

Much of our discussion centers around the homemade WHIZBANG chicken plucking machine.

If you like the idea of picking the feathers off more than one bird at a time, in about 15 seconds, without having to even touch the critters (you just watch), then you'll like the Whizbang. You can build your own using new parts for less than $500, and a lot less than that if you use some salvaged parts. Your Whizbang will pluck chickens, ducks and turkeys.

Thousands of WHIZBANG pluckers have been built. They are hard at work on small farms and in backyards all across the United States.

This group is moderated by Herrick Kimball, developer of the Whizbang plucker.

For more information about the book, the plucker, and the Deluxe Whizbang Chicken Scalder (with auto-dunker), click here: Whizbang Plucker Online.

I've also put together a FREE online photo tutorial on the subject of How To Butcher a Chicken. And be sure to check out this group's theme song, ChickenPluckingMan. Thanks for stopping by------ Herrick Kimball
