Dear friends,
Yesterday morning I almost drown myself with my coffee when I listened to the
news. French hunters just killed the last female of native bear in the Pyrenees,
here between Spain and France. The female, named Canelle had a young of 10
months to which it defended of the attack of the dogs of the hunters, who,
according to its words, "they were forced to shoot to defend themselves".
Totally indignant I ask myself: Why I, as a professional, need a special
permission the Ministry of the Environment to be able to photograph animals in
zones of bears, for which, I must demonstrate that I have sufficient experience
for not bothering the animals, when other people are able to be hunting in the
same zone? Is it that the dogs of hunting and the firings of firearms do not
bother so much than "click" of a camera?
Now, we will see what measures the French government will take against those
wrong called hunters. Or are they going to wait for the news to cools off and
for us to forget the subject?
At the moment naturalist of the zone are afraid for the life of the young bear,
because it is put in doubt that it can survive without its mother.
Pardon for the off topic, but I am really furious and wanted to share it with
you all.
Bear hugs,
