Hello all;

I have setup a web server using Windows NT4, Apache 2.0.55, PHP,
MySQL, and Perl. Everything is running fine. I have about 8 virtual
hosts and have separate log files for each.

I installed Webalizer v2.01 in c:\etc and configured
a "webalizer.conf" file to process the default Apache access.log
file. However, Webalizer does not read the webalizer.conf
file (I open a DOS command window and cd into c:\etc, then type
webalizer).

It thinks it's supposed to get input from STDIN.

I can specify the log file to process on the command line as well as
other parameters and it works OK.

I've read, and re-read, the documentation, and have searched google
but have not found anything of help.

I'm stumped.

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong or point me in the right
direction?

TIA.

Charles...

Welcome to Win-Webalizer Group

We only support Webalizer related issues on Windows, however there can be 3
possibilities..

1. There might be Connectivity Issue between Server / Client, as you know
Windows 2000 pro fetches policy and other details from server once domain
user logs in
Solution:
-> Try checking things on other network cable and see if it solves your
issue

2. machine might be infected with worm or trojans
Solution:
-> Try using Adware / Hijackthis to investigate and fix issue

3. Try disjoining and then rejoining your client to Domain Controller.

If nothing works then i request you to publish your issue on Windows 2000
Groups which are available on Yahoo & MSN Groups

Regards,

Sunil Chelaramani

Hi,

I just joined this group (actually it's my first group ever). I have
installed webalizer on a windows 2003 server and automated it to run
every night at 11:55pm. It seems to be functioning except that each
time it runs it loses all the records the previous day. For example
when I looked yesterday morning (May 10) the report only had records
from May 9th and when I looked this morning (May 11) the report only
has records from May 10th. I looked in the webalizer.hist file and it
only has one line of data so obviously it is not getting written
correctly. Can anyone help?

On another topic I am trying to figure out how to change the language
to French (which apparently requires recompiling) but am not having
any luck.

Help on either topic is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Leah

Enabling Reverse DNS lookup can solve your country stats problem at some
extent but this would put some load on your server while processing each
log, incase you want to continue with your existing version then u need to
write your custom script (vbs script or batch script) which may help you to
process all log files at a time.

Webalizer works with IIS6 & Windows 2003 Servers.....!

If you have administrative access to your server you can always configure
Webalizer to generate GUI statistics for your IIS6 logs...!

Incase if you don't have administrative access then you need to contact your
Server Administrator (Host Provider) to install and configure it.

Dear Alaa Yousef,

I can just tell that you can configure Local Policy(if your pc is not in
domain) to restrict most of things in Windows XP

Further dicussion on this issue will go unreplied as we have created this
group just to discuss and provide support on windows based webalizer
issues.....!

I recommend you to try Windows XP based groups for support on Windows XP or
refer Microsoft Support Site

Dear All:

I am using WINXP home edition, I want to stop all new installation for any new
program installed by me or by other persons, I tried that to stop Windows
Installer Service, but this work & prevent some programs, not all, other
programs installation do not depend on windows installer, so they are still can
be installed.

Any one know how to stop the installation for all programs

Thanks
