I'd like to briefly touch upon what I mean by noisy software developers.
On my Mac, for example, where I am running 6.4.1, I tunes pops up a
window asking if I would like to upgrade to Itunes 8. If I made that
tragic mistake, and then went ahead and upgraded my operating system, it
would render thousands of dollars worth of protools gear useless, and
force me to buy all kinds of other software upgrades. It would create an
extraordinary mess which would take days to fix and rebuild.
Software companies are arrogant and disrespectful in their push for more
upgrades and more money, which keeps end users in constant turmoil. But
they disguise it behind a marketing campaign for "more features and more
benefits". But then, you already knew all this.
